its harder than what you think,
there are a couple of ways of going about it,
each with pro's and con's
1st. get the new cowl, modify the subframe on the bike, weld bits in ect
and try to get all the fixing points to meet up.
pro- keep original wiring in place,
con - bastard of a job
2nd. get the whole subframe and seat cowl from donor bike,
remove the old subframe ect, and bolt the new one in place
pro- the whole seat unit will work as it was supposed to
con, you'll probably have to make/weld new subframe mounts etc,
normally no going back,
ive done it to a couple of bikes, its always much more involved than what you expect, you need good fabrication skills, and welding ability would be a bonus,
far easier to leave as is,
but you want to do it. do it ____________________ the humans are dead

If you want something that looks like a modern 600 then get a modern 600, leave the 90's sport bikes alone (besides whats wrong with the tail units I find it part of the appeal personally)
Only seen one remotely good looking tail conversion on a ZXR 400 (think the threads on here actually) but still looked nothing on the original. ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 & 91 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Some Bike Pics...

Look up TYGA bodykits.
They are tacky shite but might be right up your street.
Put the orignal panels in the loft for when you eventually see sense . |
