 |
|
Hi
I've booked my theory for next month, wahay
I've done a few practice tests now and only passed one
I go through them thinking pft this is easy with only a couple of questions catching me out, then it turns out I got 40/50! Fail!
Some questions that trick me out are
Number chest compressions to give someone injured?!
Stopping distances
The weird, approaching an unmarked junction honk your horn, noone has right of way thing
Any other questions that trick you out? What are the right answers?
Just trying to cover my bases, figure most of you guys have done the theory so know what weird questions come up.
Also how long is theory valid for to do the tests again? ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

I used this as my practice for the theory test questions;
https://www.all4bikers.com/theory/
some of the questions included were in the test on the day too.
Chest compressions are 100 per minute, the question about cooling a burn is 10 minutes (minimum) so remember 100 & 10 for those. As for the braking, just keep going over the distances, it's the only way it'll sink in I found.
I used this link for the HPT;
https://www.driving-test-success.com/hazard/hazard_perception_main.html
It'll give you an idea of when to click & get you 'into' what's required.
I used the highway code for the braking stuff, what colour studs are where on a dual carriageway as those seemed to come up often...........aceept the actual test where there wasn't one bloody question on what I'd been revising.
Keep at it chap, I used to use these links when I had a spare moment in the evenings/at work. It does help to keep trying them. Best of luck for next month. ____________________ CBT: Pass 25/06/2011 Theory Test: Pass12/06/2012 Mod 1: Fail 08/07/2012

Grr 41!
I like that site, it's a good one
Damn i'm rubbish at this |
Keep at it, it'll happen for ya! If you can borrow the theory test book then it'll only help, you might be able to find the DVD on Fleabay which might also help. I was worried about the HPT but it's not that bad, just try & practice the mock tests often. There was another site which had mock HPT's but I can't find the bloody thing at the mo......Will keep looking & post it here when I do. ____________________ CBT: Pass 25/06/2011 Theory Test: Pass12/06/2012 Mod 1: Fail 08/07/2012

That was boohickey! Is that aimed at car drivers? Considering it asked when shouldn't you use a vehicle on a provisional and I put with passenger son the back and got WRONG, WHEN YOURE ALONE! Wat?
Time to install the 10gb of practice material |
You've just exposed a big problem with the theory test, which is what that Bennetts Biker Petition thing was all about, having more questions about bikes.
The theory test is car based. If you drive a car on a provisional then you need to be supervised by someone over 21 who has held their licence over 3 years, and have L-plates on the vehicle. On a motorcycle, you are NOT allowed to carry any passengers.
You have to assume that the questions will be car based and ignore the fact you are going for a motorcycle test.
Some of the things you will need to know in particular are speed limits, stopping distances and road signs. Most of the other things are common sense, read each question really carefully and decide which of the answers are "Definitely not", which are "Maybe", and which are "Correct". You also need to be careful of how many answers you need to give. If the question wants you to give three answers, and you only give one, you will throw away points.
Hope that helps! |

+1 for the DSA Theory book, got me tuned up quite well (first time pass).
Brother - if you want the book, just wire me a few bob for postage and I'll fly it over to you tomorrow.
It can be like a pay-it-forward thing. Once you're done, send it to another BCFer. And so the cycle can continue ____________________ Yamaha XJ600S, Volvo v40. |
