I've been having a play with my suspension, softening for the absolutely horrific roads around here.

I've put a bit more rebound in the front, and softened the compression, high speed cornering is now lovely and smooth and feels nice, slow speed on the other hand feels like it's going to slide out on me, it tips over and feels like i'm leaning far more than I need to for the rate that I'm going round the corner.

Are there any suspension gurus about that can advise?

Bike is an 05 CBR600RR and I'm 60kg.

i've been playing with my suspension on my 600rr-5 over the course of about 2 months and i pretty much have it as i want it now. Not sure how you like your bike set up to feel but your welcome to try my settings if you want, even if it doesnt suit you it will probably be a good base to work from.

Just noticed you say you weigh 60kg, which is about 9st 4lbs, are you annorexic Laughing

If you could lob those over that'd be appreciated.

My biggest issue is stopping the bloody bars from slapping, hit a bump mid corner and the front wiggles all over, I've now gotten rid of the wiggles but i've sacrificed slow speed and overall lean angle.

**Edit** and yes, weight is a difficult thing to put on Razz

Go spend ~£30 on getting it set up by a pro, out of the box my ZX9R was an ill handling barge that dragged it's nose on the floor at the mention of a bump mid corner and and felt like the swing arm bearings had fallen out if I opened up the taps coming out of the turn.

An hour with a highly recommended guy in Exeter later and it finally steered and held a line like a fairly capable sports bike should, it honestly felt like someone had chopped 30 kilos from the front end of the bike, it really did turn in that much better.

Suspension is a pretty serious dark art and not many people can get it truly right imo Thumbs Up

Trying to find a suspension specialist in Cambridgeshire, that's a black art too!

Ask around the local track day nuts and I imagine you'll get a few good leads, most of the suspension gurus round here are otherwise tucked away in little bike workshops MOTing scoots and the like.

not really sure if these will be any use to you as i weigh close to 14 stone.

Rear preload is set to position 3
rear comp and rebound are set to default.
I did mess about with the rear shock a bit but found that standard settings felt about right.

Front preload= 2 full turns stiffer than standard
compression= 1/4 turn stiffer (clockwise) than standard
rebound= 1/2 turn anticlockwise or out from standard

might be worth changing the fork oil if it hasnt been done for a while. I did mine the other week and it felt a lot better for it.

Sounds like you still have too much compression or preload.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
