I think the 250 will be worthless in 2 years as it won't fit into the new power classes (I could well be wrong, though....).
However, a restricted 600 is fine  ____________________ Honda Varadero 125cc => Suzuki Bandit 650 33bhp => 77bhp =>

Smaller bikes are great, I've said it hundreds of times on here but... You can thrash the nuts off a 250 without being in losing your license territory - it's a much more exhilarating feeling to be pushing the machine rather than sitting well within its capabilities all the time.
Also, my hyo was quicker than 90% of the vehicles on the road - sure you won't beat the bigger bikes from the lights and the odd scooby or proper sports/super cars will do you, but they're still fast!
All that said, my opinions on DAS/A2 have changed - if I had my time again I would take the DAS. There's questions about losing 2 years license entitlement with some insurers and the way I read the new rules on the dvla site means there could be some questions when upgrading next year, although that may only be A1 license holders.
In short, do the DAS but get a smaller bike cos they're great. ____________________ current: ducati monster 750

We don't know, they still haven't published the [RADIO EDIT] legislation.
But A<=25kW has no equivalent under the new regime. I can't see how it could be converted, even if the DVLA were capable of it.
Still, who knows what wonders await us. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I hope not, because the 19th of January was the day I passed my test.. And the official implementation of the rules start on the 19th of January. I'd be gutted if I was just one day out.
But knowing this country, I gather it will be put back somewhat if only for a month or two. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

I shall Have to keep my eye on this then
Got my theory on next week, with the idea to get rid of both Mods shortly after.
If I'm going to be stuck restricted, I'll go DAS.
Thanks for the replies / info

Oh Mighty BCF ...
Any update on the A2 restriction for next year?
I've got started and completed my theory, so would ideally like to know where I stand with the A2 license under next years ruling |
