CBT is booked for Monday, will progress on to DAS once I do my (2nd ) theory test as my first one expired!
Popped out and bought some kit to get started for Monday.
Helmet - BKS Stealth
Gloves - leather ones (can't remember!)
Jacket - RST Razor textile
Boots - Blytz
All in for just over £200 seemed reasonable!
I'll add some trousers when I get to MOD1 .
Looking forward to it, just hope the rain holds off!
Wish me luck |

Hmm.
I'm wondering Witt the chance of rain showers tomorrow, should I just go and get some textile trousers ready for the CBT tomorrow
Will I look a spoon in full gear? (I don't really care to be honest!)
Do you wear jeans/trousers UNDER textiles?
Sorry , I'm a bit clueless |

I've worn textiles over jeans before, but if it's a hot and humid day or you move about you will boil alive. Your morning will be spent pottering around a car park at not much above 10 mph anyway, so there's no breeze to cool you off.
I it looks like rain for the day take the textiles and you'll stay warm, comfy and dry. Jeans will be miserable if it chucks down. If it's due to be dry then whichever you prefer. And you'll look prepared, as long as they're not bright pink I wouldn't worry about what people think. You'll be wearing a yellow hi viz vest with a logo on anyway, which with Ls screams n00b ____________________ Prize cunt

Yeah no chance to get stuff for tomorrow, but good pointer!
Will look into it affirm next stages!
I'm hoping that being outside will cool me down, rather than being in the bedroom fully dressed up (I can't help it, I look cool!)
My missus actually put the stuff on yesterday, was very funny ! |

Passed CBT today, was raining ALL day!
Was very grateful for a full textile suit, kept me snug and dry while the others were soaked
Instructor reckons I need 2 days to do MOD1, including the test.
This seems right as I was pretty rubbish at slow moving slalom,
I need more practise to feel confident, guess its cos I'm older than the average learner (36) and a bit more risk averse!
Thanks for the advice so far. |

Wish I'd remembered the funky chicken flap!
I was too tense on the bike for parts of it, trying to remember all the actions.
Observe. Roll off. Front brake, back brake, clutch, change gear, foot down, signals, cancel signals, forget what gear you're in, remember what gear you're in, try not to fall off.
I'm sure I'll relax into it!
As I look back on the day I realise how much I enjoyed it |
