Not too long back I started a "what 600 shall I get" thread, as I had just sold my two bikes and nearly all my spares to by a working running motorcycle, and was looking for a sports bike and was aiming for a 600cc.

Well then this came up and I couldn't say no.

https://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff345/MikeyB525/My%20Old%20bikes/IMG_0727.jpg

Suzuki GSXR 1000 K3 just hit 20,000 miles. (Does have a standard exhaust can but took the photo with it off, Need to get a race can!)

IT IS MENTAL!!! Fastest bike I have ridden, any gear twist the throttle and it takes off!! And it keeps going, going and going.
Absolutely love it. Very Happy

Had decided against a litre sports bike because of insurance but then I turned 30 and all the quotes dropped like crazy!!??

More pics to follow.......

Mikey.

Last one for now......

https://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff345/MikeyB525/My%20Old%20bikes/IMG_0730-1.jpg

So I need to get a decent exhaust, want to get some short racing levers, and lots of other goodies for it. And I need to get a new front mudguard as the one on there is cracked due to the PO leaving a disc lock on.

Oh and obviously sort the twisted Subby and slack chain..... Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Yeah I think maybe it is a bit much for general road riding, this thing does not want to go slow, and it goes from legal to Jail-time speeds in the blink of an eye. Shocked
But I think it is worth the extra effort keeping it at legal/sensible speeds just for that odd occasion when you get to open up and let fly!!
Besides I do have plans to take this on track (Brands is just down the road) and to the Drag strip and really give it some!!

Mike.

I've just ordered one of these for my bike...
https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTk4WDIzMA==/$(KGrHqV,!ksE9WJwO5brBPcvvth0-w~~60_35.JPG

They're not on the BlueFlame site yet but they would probably make you one (they told me I could have it between 300-400mm, naturally I asked for 300)

I think I will have to get myself one of those if i ever get bored of the D 650, Looks good, goes like stink but I would fear for my licence Laughing

Please tell me you've had it running like that Twisted Evil

Nice colour too. You don't get many silver bikes, and unlike cars where because there are too many silver cars they look boring, bikes actually don't look bad in it, because it's somewhat original on a bike. (in the sense that there are not many around)

Cheers dude,
I like the silver scheme too, wasnt sure weather it looks a bit too plain?, I dont want to cover it in stickers, maybe some race decals?
I also like the black and copper Gsxr thous you don't see many of them around either.

Hey Tim,

It hasnt been down the road (well to my knowledge anyway!) It was fully Hpi clear when I bought it.
It doesnt need a new can, the standard exhaust is only off as I wanted to hear how loud it was without it (and boy is it loud!) and it is FUGLY!!
The Plain Fairings are a standard scheme for the 2003 Silver GSXR 1000's. There are a few on ebay at the moment all in the same scheme. (think they did the same scheme for the ltd edition Black Stealth K4 models too).

I have however dropped it into the side of my shed after two days of having it Evil or Very Mad which damaged one of the front indicators, so I replaced the fronts with flush fitting LED clear indi's.
Also put Carbon Heel plates on, a small number plate and the silver rim tape. Got Carbon effect Clear LED rear indi's to go on but might wait till I have an undertray before I fit those.

And a pic of when i got it with the standard zorst......

Amen Brother!

Its gotten worse with the newer bikes, absolutely gorgeous bike with a huge monstrosity of an exhaust stuck on the side!!

Still thank god its just four bolts holding it on, and there are a thousand and one people making race exhausts for them!! Very Happy

It seems to be around that era when they were making them 40ft long.

Very nice looking bike ignoring the exhaust though, nice to see one in a colour other than blue.

It does appear to be a crash repaired piece.

That or previous owner has spent money on getting it sprayed and sorted as its got the set of pipes..braided lines etc... but pretty sure Suzuki didn't do single colour schemes on the GSXRs

I dunno Paddy, Google images turns up quite a few pics of silver GSXR 1000's looking just like this one, even the Chinese fairing kits come in that colour scheme.

Here is a link showing the years/models of Gsxr 1000's and the all silver model is there.

https://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-R-series/GSX-R1000.shtml

Says colours released were blue/white (of course!), Silver and the black and orange (although it look more like copper to me!)

Will have a look and see if I can find a more official site.

Mike.

I thought the same thing to be honest mate, only after I done a bit of research I found that it seems to be a standard desgin.

Either way gonna try and find some decals, so it doesn't look as plain.

Cheers Kris.
