Do such things exist?
Im looking for some kind of stand which rotates, basically to make it a lot easier to get the bike out the garage. I have a pebble drive with 4 cars on it so there is no space, i have to wheel the bike back and forward until i can roll it onto the neighbours tarmac drive (asked her permission to use it)
So i was looking for something which will swing the bike round in the garage so i can ride it straight out.
Thanks

If you have a centre stand - google "lazy susan bearing".

It is basically a big round bearing, mount both surfaces to a piece of ply wood, put bike on centre stand on the bearing/ply wood and you can spin the whole thing using the bearings. If you are less creative:

https://www.turnabike.com/wp-content/uploads/tabsequence02.gif
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/motorcycle-turntable-/230834595497?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item35bed066a9#ht_312wt_76
https://www.driveawaymat.co.uk/7.html

If you don't have a centre stand, there are things you can do with castors, wheeled dollies etc. IIRC Marki rigged up something to spin a big cruiser around with.

I believe you can get them. But have you tried this -

Rotating a bike on the sidestand.

Its a little bit tricky to do it the first couple of times, but one you've got it, its easy. I use it all the time.

My side stand bracket is looking a little fragile after doing that a few times.

Not to mention I've drilled a few holes in the driveway Wink .

Easy, your garage isn't wide enough to swing a bike through 360 degrees inside!

What you need to do is roll it out onto the gravel, then do a 'half' Donut. Wink

Google search for motorcyclke turntable brings upo some interesting results...

There is the turn a bike as shown above.
The MAT looks like a variation of the turn a bike.
Motor Works, mainly BMW bits aslo have a couple listed at £54 for small and the large (MAT?) at £96.

However Motorbike Turntable looks like the instructions for a DIY version as also mentioned above (sadly USA parts, same may require searching for UK source).

Thumbs Up

Sorry to be off topic but I have to nominate this as shortest post by Teflon-Mike ever! Shocked

I'd have at least expected a four page essay on how to perform the best donut Wink

Really? Its never been a problem on any of the bikes I've tried. Also, people I know in the trade use it to move bikes all the time, even big cruisers etc., and i've never heard of anyone having a problem. Sure you're not just paranoid? Wink

You are right about drilling holes though, done that a few times myself. But then if you're on tarmac, a sidestand puck is what, a couple of quid?

True, i just thought it would help turn the bike mostly the right way, so im not fannying about rocking it forwards and backwards on the stones.

It's very possible, but it is slightly wobbly and I don't recall it being wobbly before.

It could just be wobbly through wear and tear, but I'd rather not exacerbate it.

Following on from the DIY themes above, what about something like this?

https://www.marinemegastore.com/product.asp?pf_id=UNI_086643&src=GBASE

Its a TV swivel stand but says supports up to 160KG, and I'm sure it could be modded in someway, but again will probably depend on you having a center stand.

That's brilliant, I had no idea that could be done Shocked Just tried it on the CB500 and spun it round no problem. Useful thing to know.

Good innit! I couldnt believe it the first time someone showed me. I think they should be teaching people that on their CBT to be honest. They show you how to get on and off the centrestand, why not this?

No you would get 2/3 of the way round and get stuck between the wall and the freezer, and be left without wiggle room!

How do you know I haven't been to bed yet?
Actually, what woke me up was something nibbling on my rump!
I now have a bump on my rump.
And whatever it was.... probably due to the amount of coffee I drink, went 'Hyper' after its feed, and was 'buzzing' round the bedroom... like an ADHD Twocker with an air cooled DT125!

My VF500 cruiser can be turned on its centre stand within the limits of a car parking space at my local Morrisons. (wouldn't do it on the side stand though it might snap !) Always turns heads from the other shoppers in their cars.

Fit a renntech luggage rack and you can just pick up back of the bike and manoeuvre it the way you would a wheel barrow.

You push up with your legs. Not as hard as it sounds.

I use that method all the time too with a heavy Varadero 1000cc with luggage. Easy as chips.
