so my garden has a back gate to the pathway and road.

its also down a step.

my mate broke the wooden ramp i had made rolling the bike in and using the front brake, so i rebuilt it, a little higher at the top end than before.

anyhoos, pushing the bike out backwards (its a yard, no room to turn it around in the yard, even on rollers) i forgot about the higher angle and the bike came rolling back down towards me.

add to that crappy grip on these boots.

it went over. dented tank, bent gear lever (still usable though thank god) and a broken indicator.

friggin wonderful!

still, first time i've dropped it in 4 months of owning it.

i guess, as per title, it had to happen sooner or later.

just needed to vent a little, and considering, its rather polite lol

let the trolling begin (but do remember when you've dropped your bikes over silly little things)

I think most of my little dings have been to do with parking and manouevering sometimes not even on the thing.
It's easily done if you slip or stumble while concentrating on balancing it.

I once rode like 400 km, a lot of deep coarse sand, I had a few head shakes but no falls.

I came home exhausted. I sat on bike a few seconds, then started getting off. But I had forgotten to put down the side stand. Over I go, the 1200 GS on top of me, and my head slams into driveway. Good thing I get off the bike before removing my helmet Mr. Green

Really stupid idiotic fall.

Speaking of idiotic, mfactor what are you doing with an fj1200 riding on gravel? Laughing

There are rules about dropping bikes

1) see if he is OK
2) start laughing
3) take a pitcha
4) help him up with his bike if necessary

didnt drop it, but I got stuck. We had to lift bike out.

He he. Breaking rules. Take the pitcha first

As he's fond of telling us, the OP is a gay - consequently I imagine it was his limp wrist which was to blame.

LOL!! He made the classic mistake of riding in the middle. That is where mud is the softest. He should have stayed in the ruts, you being unable to steer in mud then wont matter. He also cant stand on the pegs, to put the COG down at the pegs.

needless to say, road tyres didnt help the problem Mr. Green

Pick a line, stay in the line, stand up and apply throttle gradually. I guess the power curves of the GSX doesnt help either. It doesnt have the low end grunt at low rpm to handle mud.

gay bashing aside, im perfectly able physically i just didnt realize the extra angle on the ramp would have such a drastic effect on it and neither had i realized how crap my boots grip was lol.

i'll put up pics later on, frankly i really cant be bothered right now.

still, glad to see theres not an over amount of trolling lol.

i do agree, a drop can happen from even the most silly of things though.

Ja, silly reasons. I was riding one day and my bike decided she was tired and it is time to take a nap

Firstly im sorry you dropped your bike, and hope it's not too serious or expensive to fix either.
I'm trying to picture your ramp/path situation, and in my mind im thinking you have to push the bike down a ramp to negotiate 1 or more steps down of the garden/yard onto the road/pavement?
The bike i presume would always be higher than you if you were standing on the steps and pushing it?

Going uphill or downhill that sounds like so many chances for a nasty fail moment tbh. When you emerge from the ramp is it a safe place with good visabilty and not straight into a pedestrian path or the road? If so i would advise that if the ramp is suitably strong and can be secured even temporary so that it won't try to move when the bike mounts it, than you stay on the machine and ride it up and down the ramp. Obviously to do this though you would need sufficiant clearance sideways to move the bars and have some room to spare. You'd also need to make the ramp fairly grippy, so if it's not already, then maybe fitting some of the grip tape or covering that people use on skateboards etc is possible? Otherwise with a wooden or metal ramp on a wet day i can visualise another nasty moment happening very easily.

He has left 2 avenues of attack open: dropping his bike on a ramp, and being gay

That's a right pikey house Laughing
wheres this?

One of the first times I tried to take my YBR out it pushed me over in my work shoes over the ice, it slowly slid me over

Then another time I got off my bike and my leg locked up with serious horrible unweight bearing cramp, I slowly fell onto the ground in near fetul position with the bike leaning on me
It was horribly weird, never had that before
