Well,

I'm now beginning to get insurance quote's for my:

" 1993 NSR 125 F "

i have been on go compare, confused etc but all the quotes seem to be very high around £380 for a year , i have 1 year's no claim's, i am unemployed ( at the minute ) 18 year's old in August, good location so low crime rate, in a locked garage all good information what they want to hear yet still high.

i have heard that go compare are bad and you do not get accurate quotes, a couple of my friends who have the same preference's to me are getting quotes well under £300 :O using single insurance company's !

Any help or any website's or company's i could use is a big help !

P.S i do also have a FULL UK driving license, no point's Thumbs Up

Many Thanks

All the best

Matt

www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk

Try there.

Aim for fire and theft/fully comp. Sometimes cheaper!

That's pretty decent for a learner on a nice bike. I paid £285 on my CLR in 2007.

£300 ish for an 18 year old doesn't sound at all expensive.
When you say Full UK Licence, do you mean car licence with provisional bike, or full bike?
If you are on L's then for an NSR which iis a 'sporty' and high group 125, then that sounds pretty damn good.
If your not on L's, 125 'Learner-Loading' plus the premium of a high-group sporty 125 like NDS, you may find you get better quotes on bigger, more insurance freindly machines, like a GS500 for instance.
Other wise, just a case of spending the time trawling the web, looking at all the sites, putting in the effort, entering your info in ALL the quote proposals....
Stick it in a note-pad file & Copy & paste.... it just takes time!
Insurance is a volatile market, and places change all the while; just read the small print to make sure quotes are like for like on stuff like excesses and actual cover.
We cant do it for you, and certainly cant tell you who will give you best quote for your details, its just too 'random'.
Google is your friend, and rewards are given for effort.

Insurance is weird online. i must admit it's quite good considering i paid £300, Third party fire & theft for my 2010 50CC SR50R Moped, after a year on my little 50cc it dropped to £185.00 which was a very good drop to be honest, just want to try and get the cheapest as money is a VERY big issue at the moment as i have no income apart from JSA Thumbs Down

Any other tip's or tricks Wink ?

No but why add someone with no licence?

In fact, it asks what licence they hold... why would adding a non licensed person lower your premium Laughing

Lying to insurance is russian roulette. I've had so many policies in the past so I won't fuck with insurers.

Then you are a complete idiot.

I would pay half that for a 1000cc super sports, 1st gear goes faster than that 125 Laughing

I think that sounds pretty reasonable really......
If you buy an R125 you obviously have more money than sense, and its the insurance companies moral obligation to help relieve you of some of it.
Fact that an R125 is SO likely to be stolen, and SO likely to be 'expensively' dropped, that the odds are verging on a certainty it's going to be subject of a 'total-loss' claim sometime within the policy life, MOST find that they cant get anything more than Third-Party cover on one, FPFT & F/C carrying such massive policy excesses as to effectively be only worth TPFT......
But there you go........
