Does seem odd considering it's all tarmac now.

Nope, all Tarmac now. 2011 was the last run with a gravel section.

All tarmac now, record times are gonna come dropping down now the vehicle doesn't need to deal with gravel.

I read an article on Visordown that the organizers aren't too keen on full on sportsbikes doing the run.

Apparently an R1 done it as part of an exhibition class, but it took 11 minutes, so I'd assume it wasn't really going full bore.

It's interesting though, if a Multistrada can do it just short of the time on offer by a 700bhp highly tuned car, I'm sure a John McGuiness/Ian Hutchy/Guy Martin on a full-blown TT bike would smash the record with some practice.

Knowing if it goes wrong it’s serious will give you such a crazy adrenaline buzz though.

I would love to have a few goes on that track!

Advert? It's one of the few extreme races left. It's Motorsport how it used to be - on the edge! Just take a look at the casualty count and say again how it's just an advert:

https://jalopnik.com/5934725/

It's raw, it allows amateurs... Sure it may have big manufacturers, but it's nothing like the F1, moto GP, BTCC, WRC etc (all of which I love too).

Oh yeah course it would, i'd do it, but slowly. I don't generally use potential death as an incentive for an adrenaline rush Razz
