New to BCF and to biking, just thought I'd say hi Very Happy
My name is Janey, 26 from Derbyshire (does this sound like a dating advert Very Happy ) I had never ridden a bike until my CBT in may, now I'm just about to take my mod 2 after passing my mod 1 two weeks ago. Just bought a GSXR600 for when I pass. Very exciting stuff!
Being new to biking, it's been good to read everyone's advice (anymore is welcome to me)

Very Happy

That's pretty good going. What have you be riding since your CBT? I presume you've been riding lots since it, not just a few lessons here and there?

I have paid for a full DAS course so have been riding my instructors CBR500 under instruction. Not got a 125 to practice on so just been training with them. I hired a CBF125 this weekend from them so took myself off for a ride to get some experience on my own. Got my mod2 two weeks today.

My instructor has offered to spend an hour with me after I pass the mod 2 so I can get used to riding mine, don't want to jump straight in being a new rider. It is an SRAD but I don't find it that heavy compared to the old Honda I'm riding on at the min for my test.

Good luck on your Mod 2. Pics when the bike arrives.

Out of interest, how much was your first year insurance as a new rider on the gixxer?

Not bad at all, would have thought it would be more for a bike like that, but then again I guess your age it a huge benefit! Smile

I pay about R450-500 per month, or 35-38 pounds for full comprehensive for my bikes, insured for R100 000.

Considering our parts and replacement value are much higher than yours, your insurance is relatively expensive. For my 4x4 bakkie I pay R350 or less than 30 pounds per month. Guess i wont complain about our insurance then.

Cant get TP only for bikes.
