Need help GSXR K3 600

Problem is that when im riding it speedo misreads the speed when you actually on 30mph it shows 40+-mph, so the difference is about 10 miles.
Could you tell me where to look or to do to sort it out?
Speedo sensor cleaned. There are some scratching on sensor itself but not to deep, maybe that causes misread?

Thank you for all help

That would cause an issue for you for sure! Check current teeth and you will probably find they are out.

Is it a UK bike? Some cowboy may have changed the clock face from KPH.

You can do MPH + KMH on the GSXR speedos if its a digital one.

Those sprockets will mess the speed up, its been set more more top end.

Changing the rear sprocket on one of those is simple.

Loosen the sprocket nuts whilst wheel is still on bike.

Unbolt the rear wheel, think you need a 36mm socket.

Slide spindle out and lay wheel down, undo the bolts, remove sprocket and add new one.

Do the reverse. You'll have enough room on the adjusters to match your chain up to a slightly bigger sprocket Thumbs Up

That said, you are in Essex, if you were able to ride to Maidstone in Kent, I'd happily give you guidance on doing it/do it for you for free Thumbs Up Pretty sure someone in Essex would be able to do so also Wink

Whereabouts are you?

You could try John's of Romford, they usually have a fair bit in stock. If not try Soper's in Southend. Failing that eBay it and wait a few days.

Gimme a shout when you get one, and I'll change it for you if you want.

Thumbs Up

How is the chain? If its looking almost past it look at spending 120 quid (posted) on a new chain and sprocket kit.
