I've been at my company 5 years now and we get a gift. Some of it is a bit naff, but the drill and the hammock appeal!

I've attached the catalogue, what would you choose?

Oh so THAT's where they got the prizes from for The Generation Game and Family Fortunes! I did wonder!

I'd go for the hammock. Hammocks are ace, and much hilarity can ensue if you put someone in one that might have trouble getting out... Razz

The camera is a bit naff though, Praktica and only 5x optical zoom.

The drill looks like a good choice but I have a decent corded drill and haven't ever felt the need to go cordless. Plus I reckon I would get more use out of a hammock.

Either the drill or one of the radios/ipod docks. The knifes could be good too, or might make a nice present for someone.

Knives or frying pan.

They're something that could get used every day.

I made a Generation Game joke about it first time I looked though it. Laughing

Being fair it is much better than it was, I looked at the 20 year catalogue last year it is was like, a 35mm film camera, 1 golf club or a carriage clock. Rolling Eyes

I'd have the telescope or the set of knives, maybe the cast iron casserole dish.

I liked the look of the knives and briefly considered them but I feel something like that should have a brand name attached to be sure of the quality.

Looks like the gifts are in the £60 to £100 ballpark.

The Bosch drill is only 12v. If I was buying for myself I'd get something rated 18v or 24v with a little more umph. However, as it's 'free' then it's your choice (btw, on amazon not much price difference 'tween 12v and 18v atm).

We had a similar garden hammock (the G25K in catalog). Seemed like a good idea at the time. Got practically zero use once the first, I'll try it for 5 minutes wore off. Not sure if the G145 brazillian hammock is as practical without the support frame.

Citizen watch, if it's the mechanical (not quartz) version is good as probably the same as the one have that's 25+ years old and still going strong (replace strap obviously). That looks like the quartz to me though (see amazon.co.uk here).

The jewellery is a bit obvious and probably will not be appreciated as a gift if found out it was a freebie. Beside that, it's your 5 years isn't it (unless you have a cross-dressing fetish).

Pens I misplace quite easily (or they get 'borrowed') so that wouldn't be my first choice (you did ask what you'd pick didn't you).

Basically I'd be reluctant to get anything that'd break (without and easy fix) or go out of date. I'd probably go for either of the watches, the Fossil (looks like model CH2564 on amazon.co.uk) or the Citizen.

Please post your final choice as I'm just curious now Very Happy

Thumbs Up

I'd get the casserole dish or the food processor, but that's mostly because I need them and would use them regularly.

The DAB radios would be a nice addition to the kitchen and not something I'd consider spending my money on, so getting one as a free gift would be a nice bonus. Reminds me of the time when I won a prize in an Orange (the mobile network) incentive when I worked at carphone warehouse. I had the choice of quite a few sensible prizes, but I picked a portable DVD player (back when they had only just come out and were over £200) as I knew it was something I wouldn't ever spend my money on and used the competition as a means of getting something I wouldn't normally have. I still have the DVD player, in fact, I was watching Father Ted on it in my tent at the BCF BBQ1.0. Still smile about the fact it was free.

I think I'm going with the Hammock, it was the most expensive thing I looked up on amazon, and aside form that I reckon it will get the most use, I did like the look of the watch however I already own a fossil watch I don't wear!

This picture put me off too.https://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51nwXRdo5wL.Image._.jpg

Look at the fucking size of it!

As I said I have a corded drill that serves me well and a battery screw driver.

Nothing else I really fancy.

Drill is green Bosch so will be utter shit and last about 10 minutes, if you're going for a Bosch drill it has to be blue, or anything Bosch related it has to be blue.

For me, the knives.

She doesn't wear jewellery (haven't worked out if this is a blessing or a curse Laughing )

I'm not the golfing sort. I went a driving range once but was asked to leave after I hooked about a dozen balls into the go kart track next door. Laughing

What make is the breadmaker? Breadmakers are good, if you eat lot of bread you can save a fair bbit of money, but they make you put on weight.

It's a Kenwood BM260

Hi,

Why not go for the 'Bird' watching equipment.

You could have hours of fun and post up pictures of all the 'birds' nudge nudge, that you see. Shocked

If not use a pin to randomly select anything and then post it up onto the BCF give away page Cool

Alex
