Situation;
Bike is running realy realy badly. Tried multiple things to sort it out, carbs on and off about 5-6 times a day at the moment. Problems been ongoing for three-four days.
Obviously i have to start the bike and ride it up the road to see if the changes i've made have made any difference whatsoever. I've not run the bike past about 5-6ish in the evening at the absolute latest due to kids over the road going to bed around that time. I also made a point after the first day of not being out there waking everyone in the street up early, so left the work on the bike till around 11-12ish in the morning before going out there.
Have had complaints from neighbours, explained politely that i require my bike to work (courier..) and that if i could take the bus i would, if i had any option i would take it. If i had the money for a new exhaust i would quite happily fit that & make the whole lot a bit quiteter. I pointed out that my time off work is unpaid, and that regarding the fumes that petrol costs quite a lot of money and that i'm not just throwing it all on the floor for nothing. I then proceeded to request that if it was a big issue, could we not come to some kind of arrangement whereby i was to work on said bike between certain hours, set me a cut off time, only give me an allowance of a few hours a day? etc etc. Got told "well i dont know do i"
I then explained that i could not afford a professional mechanic, and have nowhere else to work on it except in the garden or garage. And that whenever i've done anything in the garage/top of the garden before i've had complaints left right and centre. Also pointed out that it was summer, the weather was nice and that i'd assumed they would be out in the garden most of the day as that's where i'd seen them every time i went into my garden! Therefore out the front of the house would probbably be the best place to go.
Apparently if it continues i'll have the police called out. Where do i stand? IMO i'm being perfectly reasonable. I've made offers to do it on their terms, and got nowhere. Suggestions? ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

The 'situation' is summed up here https://www.environmental-protection.org.uk/noise/environmental-noise/noise-pollution/#wa469
It's a bit vague but this is the relevant bit...
Noise nuisance
| Quote: | A nuisance is often difficult to establish but, generally speaking, if something is unreasonable to the average person, a court might decide it is a statutory nuisance. Noise nuisance is covered by Part III of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (EPA). This law empowers local authorities to deal with noise from fixed premises (including land) if they consider that the noise amounts to a statutory nuisance. Proceedings may be taken against noise from factories, shops, pubs, dwellings and stationary vehicles.

Whats winding me up, is the fact that i've lost over a days work time due to being considerate. When i've had acess to an industrial unit it's not been uncommon for me to start at 2/3ish and work right through till 6-7ish the next day!
That and the fact that i spent two days last week having drills stuck in the wall at around 8-8.30 in the morning waking me up.
And then the fellah two doors up threatening to kick my head in because i've ruined his weekend with "THAT FUCKING BIKE" who's been lighting realy stinky bonfires, burning plastic and shit scince...well as long as i've lived here, so 23 years? Keeping in mind he'll light up around 4-5ish, regardless of my washing being on the line.
S59 is my big worry tbh...have ordered E-mark tag for can just in case. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

When I need to do work on my bike I just grab the tank bag with tools and head down to the local supermarket at night (Tesco's).
Great lighting on the car park at night, hardly anyone on there at all so it won't affect anyone as well as peace and quiet. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS
