MOT - Rear reflector?

For your bike to pass it's MOT, does it require the red reflector at the back? I sort of chopped mines off a while ago. Maybe a mistake....

Yes.

And most MOT places will do you a stick on one for a couple of quid, or just find a mountin bike and use that one

Yes, a red one is needed, it can be square, round or rectangle.

I have a round one and it's fitted to my number plater in the botton right corner.

Yes ! , I had to get one as i had pulled off the shitty red refletive tape of the back of the bike when i had it !
The mot guy said ,Its a fail without one.

Thanks guys, I think I've got one lying in the garage that I'll need to attach.

While on the topic of MOT's... Anyone give me some help on this problem? My brake light doesnt come on when I press the rear brake pedal. Works with the front brake though. Any ideas on how it works? What to check etc...? NSR btw...

Other side of the brake (rear) There should be a spring and a switch.
Check the spring to the brake or switch.
Might need adjusting ?
(Thats going by a honda ns125r)

Most bikes have the little spring and switch thing. It's usually attached to the brake lever and has a wire coming out of it. Just check that its connected etc.

Sorry about resurrecting an ancient topic.

Bikes going in for mot tomorrow, no rear reflector, would I be ok to undo the L plate when I get there as the original is under it.

I've never known any MOT testers bother with the noob reflector.

They just add them to the bottom of my plate when I don't have them on.

it's gravy, just loosened the l plate screws slightly so can whip it off when i pull up.

noticed the reflector was loose, tried to tighten and the bolt snapped o_O so i've had to glue the original back on anyway haha

Hoorah the tiddler passed, and I somehow managed to forget to put the L plate back on and rode all the way home, didn't realise til i got back lol.
