I seem to have a problem somewhere that i have never come across before accept with iridium plugs.
between 600 and 800 miles the bike will start missing from cold and towards the latter (800miles) it will start misfiring when warm too.
by the time the bike gets to 1000 miles the plugs are dead and wont even fire up my sons pitbike
i never have had a bike eat plugs like this and the carbs are well balanced and the fuel air mix is just about spot on (nice tan colour on the plugs)
i do reasonable mileage on the bike and try to keep well maintained, oil etc every 1000 miles and on previous bikes (including 2 cb twins) plugs every 5k miles, the book of lies tells me to do the plugs anually or 7500miles.
what could be causing the plugs to brake down like this?
the bike -- 87 cb 125 tde
plugs ----- ngk cr8hs
done 4 k on the bike 2 engines same problem and recent engine rebuild ____________________ "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 100 MPH THATS IMPOSSIBLE Its chinese OFFICER."

It could possibly be a fault with the resistors in the plug caps, if that model is supposed to have them that is. The caps have a resistance of 5K (5000) ohms so a multimeter would be handy to check.
Right, just checked, your bike should have NGK LB05F or similar spark plug caps which are resistor types. Perhaps if they are faulty then there is too much current being drawn by the spark plug resistors causing them to burn out? It's worth a look. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. well i have been out and checked this afternoon and the resistance is near as dam it 5 ohms so i guess this is within its tollerance,
what should i be looking at next, coils or cdi? ____________________ "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 100 MPH THATS IMPOSSIBLE Its chinese OFFICER."
