1. Work asked me and fellow Biker co-worker to move our bikes as they needed space in the parking lot, went outside and there were 8 spaces and no one else turned up, they hounded us and kept pressing, I told them to fuck off and if they kept harassing me I would have my union take action for discrimination due to mode of transport.
My mate ended up caving and moving his bike, they pretty much threatened his job and knew he needed the money.
2. Refusal to serve bikers at cafes, police telling you to move from the shore front, people totally lying and refusing to accept that most bikers deaths are directly attributable to reckless driving by bad car drivers.
3. Bikers have to get a re-stricter kit at a certain age, a new car driver in his teens can go and buy a Porsche and slam into anyone at 190mph.
4. Mass public opinion that it is OK to have the opinion that these laws and unfair regulations should be brought down on bikers at expense of their personal liberty, then claim with a calm voice, I have the right to my opinion, not acknowledging that it is not just an opinion if your taking away another persons right to do something.
Anyway sorry for this rant, I am sure it is something you all know but it makes me sick, especially when my own family members can share such bigoted views of bikers despite the fact most men in my family are bloody bikers. |

1) Car park, not parking lot...
2) Beach not shore front....
3) Restrictor not re-stricter.....
4) Not really sure what you're trying to say..
I hate the way young bikers feel the need to use unnecessary americanisms in their daily speech... Ban the lot of them I say ____________________ "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." Hunter S Thompson

Never had any of these problems. In fact, quite the opposite. I find I get preferential treatment as a biker.
At work I was able to park closer to the office than cars(i.e on the path outside the front door). Now I'm at uni I can park in one of 6 or more dedicated motorbike parking areas (each one can take over a dozen bikes) completely free of charge. Cars have to either pay a pound an hour if they can actually find a space, or use the park&ride to campus for £1 return and have to endure a 20min+ bus ride each way. I also get preferential treatment with regards to lockers as I have to stow my gear somewhere safe, especially since my chosen mode of transport is so much more environmentally friendly than a car (I'm very lucky if I see over 40mpg, on either bike).
My insurance in considerably less than car drivers. For example, the insurance for my tortoise like volvo estate is over 3 times the amount it is to insure the lightning quick zx9r and about 8 times the amount it costs to insure the trident, which is still marginally quicker than the volly (2.0t)
I've found plenty of "biker only" cafes and pubs where cars are either frowned upon and/or forced to park further away. Iv'e never found a similar situation with car orientated venues. If anything, on the odd time I've come across one, bikers still got preferential parking.
Norwich city provide ample free parking for bikes, right in the city centre. Cars have to pay, again, if you can actually find a space.
On top of all that, I can't recall hearing a negative word towards myself, my bikes or bikers in general, aside from the odd "why do bikers always have to fly down the middle through the traffic", to which I always reply, because we can.
But other than that, yeah, I agree, we're a persecuted minority. ____________________ 1977 Honda CG125

Dont know.
1) I don't park in the parking bays. I park on the side so not to block space for those who feel the need to take a ton of metal and plastic with them to work. At shopping centres I park up on the pavement, but not blocking the thoroughfare.
2) No one has ever refused to serve me because Im on a bike. But then I again, i don't cultivate the harley image and am clean cut with short hair and a respectable professional person. A bike jacket doesnt seem like a reason not to serve me
3) I had a full bike licence at 18. No one regulated what I ride if I passed the test. Maybe pay more for insurance at a young age, but the stats show that young people have more accidents, hence are a higher risk and cost more money to insurance companies. It is not them crashing. It is them being asked to carry the financial risk
4) I dont think the mass public spend 5 minutes a day thinking of bikers, nor having an opinion of them. They couldnt care less. ____________________ 2011 KTM 990 Dakar
