Easy way to tell if they're binding, go for a ride and when you get back see if the discs/calipers are hot. Numpty mechanic fitted some pads a bit squiffy one time, my brakes felt sharp as a sharp thing the whole way home. Poked the caliper with a gloved finger once off the bike, and it made my glove smoke
Ffs don't burn yourself if you try this  ____________________
