i have no idea wtf happened to me today!
i'd been taking a lesson or 2 just to make sure i had no bad habits for my up coming tests...previous feedback was that i was 'excellent and coming along nicely, no doubt about it' today i went for a mod 1 practice, and my drive there and back was attrocious! instructor said everyone has an off lesson and it was definitely out of character for me to be driving that way.
anyone else had the pre-test nerves or the off lesson? it was a horrid experience, and as soon as i left the training centre on my own bike, i felt more than fine? with mod 1 looming i can't afford to cock it up, i'm eager for this license! ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator

Haha, I dropped my bike at 6:30 a.m. on the morning of my mod 1.
I was first in on MoD1 and 2 as it happens at 8:15 a.m.
I was practicing on the way to the test center and it just went down, I caught it but couldn't keep it upright and laid it down as gently as I could.
Hey, Varadero's are fecking top heavy
Flew through both tests 1st time so don't worry, it's all good stuff!
You really cannot want it more than I did, It was 6:30 a.m. in a car park in winter ffs
You'll do great, you want it that bad, you'll pass, good luck ____________________ My Lane Position is always AWESOME!! |

glad to see i aint the only one then!
i had my instructor lose it with me in the courtyard for locking my back wheel up a few times. problem is, i kept grabbing for the clutch! i've decided to just take the minor, and stall the fucking bike!
out on the road though, my roundabouts were atrocious! a couple of times my road positioning was bad too. I just kept negging myself out! it wasn't a good experience today!
by the end of the mod 1 practice he had me up to scratch and focused, i feel i could do well on thursday
mod 2 however, i need to be careful on roundabouts (even though i know wtf i'm doing) and with my positioning (i can be sloppy as i dont know that area and some points were very poorly posted!) ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator

Ok, here's what I did on mine, it might help, it might not.
1. Zoom along. When you're ready to stop try:
2. Pull in the font brake firmly, don't use the back but have your foot resting on it.
3) The forward motion of your body under braking should make you lean forward, naturally pressing on the rear brake. ie not actively pressing it, just using the weight of your foot and your forward motion.
4) Just before the bike stalls, pull in the clutch.
Grabbing the clutch was an issue I originally had, it wasn't until I decided it didn't matter if I stalled I was fine. Then it's just a case of remembering to pull it in before the engine dies
