 |
|
The weather is really affecting my decision when to take lessons hopefully DAS but i am not sure if i should just wait till next year to start lessons. Monday and today's weather has been so miserable that i even wonder if lessons would have been available when its like this. Has anyone taken lessons in this type of weather or have they decided to wait? Advice much appreciated please. |

Are you riding your own bike on L's?
If so; then do lessons sooner rather than later.
I reckon that every hour of training in your first month of getting on a bike is worth a day of training a year later.....
When you first start, your are a clean sheet, open to learning; every lesson 'tought' is one you dont have to learn the hard way by making mistakes, you learn to do stuff 'right' right at the start, and any bad habits can be nipped in the bud, before they become engrained.
Longer you leave it, harder work it becomes.
Rain? This is Britain. Did you see the summer we just had...... no we didn't did we! That's my point! No garantee that we'll have one next year either.
Bikes have tread on the tyres, this is so that they can grip on a wet surface; they dont suddenly take on the handling properties of a slippery bar of soap, the moment they get wet, they DO still work!
If you dont want to ride in the rain? Well think about whether you want to ride at all; this IS britain after all, if you dont brave the elements, and only come out when the sun shines, then chances are you ent going to ever cover many miles!
So... training in the weather? Best way, isn't it? Most representative of the weather you'll have to deal with most! And if you can do it in the wet, doing it in the dry will be a doddle, and SOooooooo much more fun! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

You're on DAS, it rains, you get wet, you become more aware of conditions which in return helps make you a better rider.
In answer to your question; YES I would say a very large majority of people - self included have done DAS/ tests in the wet.
It really isn't that big a deal & once you have your licence etc: can you honestly say that you will never ride in the wet/rain? - NO you can't, we all get caught out by a sudden shower or something, even on the brightest of sunny days.
Be honest, would you ever expect anything different weatherwise in UK ____________________ I might not be a gynecologist, but I know a cunt when I see one |

Personally if I was over 24 I'd be leaving it.
But seeing as the EU wankers will fuck my life, I have to do it in the cold and ghey ____________________ 07' Honda Hornet now full powaah! My guide on performing an oil change! |

(Wo)man up!!
Its only a bit of water!
Its not much fun in the rain though, but dammit do them sooner rather than later, you will be thankful as soon as you pass that much earlier!
Good luck with them ____________________ Yamaha FZS600 (Now gone to heaven) > CBR600F4i (SOLD) > '99 YZF-R1 |
