Only started riding three weeks ago, this was somewhat opportunistic, I was treating it as a lesson (in fact probably cheaper). There are split opinions as to whether you should or not, I can only say from my position, it's worth a go if only to build your confidence. I've done 400 miles on my bike, spent the whole weekend riding round an industrial estate car park.
Was a bit worried about the weather, but I just had to get on with it. All the slow speed stuff, no problem. Took a deep breath and prepared for the high speed section. First controlled stop 57Km/h and the emergency stop was 55Km/h followed by the swerve avoidance at 57Km/h
This was at the mitcham test centre, there was loads of room, even braking down into standing water it was excellent.
No errors at all, asked for feedback, he advised that he couldn't confirm I used my back brake, used the advice given here, cover but don't necessarily use.
Very, very happy. Module 2 in 6 weeks (earliest opportunity). This is all A2 incidentally. I've got my own bike, didn't want to pay for school lessons, hire etc. at this stage. 2 year restricted is fine for me as I need to keep my current bike for a year as it's brand new (or the Mrs will kill me). I'm commuting currently.
Thanks for the advice guys! ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

Officer work, especially getting those manly-wrist speeds. What bike was that? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

'62 Plate CBF125 with 400 miles on it, it was easy to make the speed on it.
On my last 'run' I came a little wide on the way out and was heading towards the very last red cone on the outside, but just kept my head down and went for it.
Best advice I can give, don't look at the speedo, look where you are going and just keep in 2nd. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

One thing that was interesting, all the diagrams, videos etc. etc. have looked more like a hairpin for the corner. This had loads of room as you went up started in a straight came round the corner and into the straight bit for the stops.
Use google maps to look up this postcode CR0 3AQ Mitcham/Croydon, it starts near the line of cones in middle top right, then proceeds all the way round and the blue coned stopping area is at the end of the 'road' plotted by Google Maps. If that makes sense.
Link here https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=CR0+3AQ&hl=en&ll=51.389745,-0.13775&spn=0.001148,0.002052&sll=52.8382,-2.327815&sspn=9.111368,16.809082&t=h&hnear=CR0+3AQ,+United+Kingdom&z=19 ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

I'd like to keep this one for a while. It's cheap and if I keep it for a year, I'll get back most of what I paid for it. Currently doing a 30 mile per day commute. Just got 133mpg out of last fill, car will manage 30, its 3.0V6 Diesel Auto Vauxhall Signum. South London traffic and then A3, lots of congestion and stress.
So much easier on the bike, even inexperienced as I am currently, stress levels are much lower at peak times than before in the car. ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |
