£9!
They saw you coming...mine was a fiver. It does taste better if you lightly butter both sides before you toast it. ____________________ ZX6R + CBR600RR |

Wotcha.
I'm a toastaholic.
When I went shopping for my toaster I took a slice of bread with me . . . . I had to make sure the toaster could cope with something as thick as a Warburtons Super Toastie. Only one toaster could cope - a De'Longhi - and that's the one I use every day.
As luck had it, the model I bought was discontinued very shortly . . . .I hope mine doesn't fail soon. ____________________ Cheers.

My family bought some horrid 4 slice toaster. The bloody thing takes ages to cook toast and 1 slice is always burnt, while the rest are hardly cooked |

I got some fairly posh looking glass and metal thing on sale from the local Debenhams when I moved. Definitely does a more consistent job than my old argos cheapo
Decent bread makes a big impact, and the spread is vital too, anchor spreadable is my favourite overall, got some Bertolli Gold as it was on offer. It's tasty but is a proper pig to spread evenly.
One of these days I'll try my hand with a bread maker, I fancy me a posh rice cooker first mind ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

I think it is fundamentally the food that describes us as human is toast. We first became independent of nature when we cultivated grain and used fire to cook with. Toast is the combination of those two advances that made us the dominant animal on our planet, a toast to our species. |
Bread is what created civilization.
But cooked meat is what created humans. Compared to other great apes, humans don't have a band of muscle over the top of our heads that gives other apes more jaw power. Loosely speaking, we need cooked food; raw food is too tough for us to chew. But another bonus: not having a muscle over the top of your head means the brain case can get larger! And thus bigger brains. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

A bread maker will never make white bread as good as industrially made sliced white bread. If you're happier with a more rustic product, or want to add various things in, a bread machine is definitely a labour saver. Many come with timers, so you can put the ingredients in and set it so that you wake up to freshly baked bread.
Me, I love fluffy well-mixed fresh white bread. Warburtons is the best I've found in London; pretty much all other brands are inferior. Industrial bread standards, I've found, are slightly poorer than what I'm used to from Ireland. I generally buy a new fresh loaf every day. The bread maker didn't hit the spot for me, now it rests at the back of a wardrobe. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

them seed sensations breads are win
never understand why bread doesn't fit in toasters either... although probably 8 times out of 10, you can actually turn em on the side and they fit for height, albeit a little tight along the length then.
i do like a de'longhi as well ____________________ CBT - 17/09/12 * Theory - 23/10/12 * Mod1 - 05/03/13 * Mod2 - 25/03/13 * BOSH!

I'm a Warburtons man through and through, I actually had to fight back the tears when there factory burnt down a few years back
Having said that, any visitors to the Isle Of Man may have had a loaf of bread over there that they only slice into about 8 bits, making each well over an inch thick only problem is that it doesn't fit in ANY toaster ____________________ MOD 1 15/09/10, MOD 2 6/10/10.

The grill has concentration issues tho. You put the bread in, you watch diligently while chuff-all happens. Then you get bored and 'nip' off to do something else 'quickly'. The next thing you know the smoke alarm is going loopy and breakfast isn't happening today ____________________ smile and be happy. . . .it gets right on everyone's tits! |
