Why not do CBT first, as it's just a training day, and take the 1 hour lesson next?!?!

Doing the free 1 hour lesson before the CBT will surely mean that the only stuff they can teach you in that lesson is the same stuff that you can do in a CBT anyway.

??

As I understand it, the free hour is to see if you want to carry on and do the CBT. If you have never ridden a bike with gears before it is a really good introduction. I did my free hour in the pouring rain, really enjoyed it and it meant that I was a teensy bit more prepared for getting the best out of my CBT.

Enjoy!

The one hour lesson is off-road, just basic handling and to get you going. To entice you into the scary world of motorcycling. Indoctrinating you into the cult!

Which appears to have worked as my wife fancied doing the get-on thing, she did last Saturday, we then immediately had to go out and spend £400 on gear (I did get a new jacket though Smile ) and booked her CBT for this saturday.

I was going to do it, but I'd booked my CBT when they offered me a spot, then they wouldn't honour it, because I was doing my CBT. Basically it's like a marketing tool, the idea being is the schools they partner with, send them for a quick lesson and they will come back and do the CBT proper!

Nah, do the GetOn lesson first.
It's not really intended as a 'free lesson' as such, just a very basic intro to give you a feel for biking (get you hooked more like!). You'll cover it all in CBT anyway but it will get you going and you'll be more relaxed and ready to get stuck in on the CBT day.
