I was informed by a member of staff that the car in the bay was a Supermarket Manager.....

Laughing

I thought about creating a fuss but was wary that they could have painted out the lines and said, "Fcuk bikers." then.

Have you sent that as an email to head office?

Not that it'd expect it to do any good. Any bets they'll say Photoshop? Wink

You want to write to the Store Manager for that one. Will probably result in a reminder for all staff to park at the back of the car park.

Fuck em. I use the cycle rack. It's more easily viewable, even from inside the store, and your bike wont get taken out by some blind twunt.

Gives you something to chain the bike to as well if it's in a more craphole area of town, especially in the dark.

Nah I did consider doing a Percy Sugden but then on second thoughts I imagined the Directors at Tesco Inc. passing the photograph around at the next operations meeting and them all going, "Bike Parking Blocked by the Store Manager... Sweeet...!!"

I take it that parking bay is nearest to the door so that the lazy manager doesn't have to walk far?

My local Sainsburies has an 'M/C only bay' right in the furthest corner possible away from the door, on the other side of the carpark. Thumbs Down On the plus side though - No cars park anywhere near it, let alone on it.

You should have attached a speculative invoice containing unenforceable penalty clauses to the windscreen.

Our local Tesco has bollards around the M/C parking area (conveniently located next to an entrance), making it physically impossible to park anything other than a motorbike there. Win.

No point really sending them an email or message as you haven't got the number plate so if it is a member of staff at the store it wont make an ounce of bother.

Hall Road, Hull. (or Oool as they say around these parts. Smile )

I deliberately blocked out the plate as I do genuinely feel motorbikers could be thought of as even more of a PITA than they are at the moment Re: Petrol Station Rules.

I am collating info on the 'auld helmets in forecourt rules' nonsense and do not wish to further alienate all law abiding (or not) bikers from the shops too. Laughing

I'm sure if I'd chinned the driver who parked in the M/C bay a good reason would have been offered. We can all break the rules. Very Happy

They take customer service pretty seriously, especially as they're currently losing market share, head office won't be too impressed when you tell them the store manager is preventing bikers from shopping there. Remember to tell them it's out of the question to use car bays as cagers tend to knock bikes over, and that when you complained verbally about the parking space no action was taken even though they knew who the car belonged to.

They want your business - make them bloodywell work for it.

I completely agree Andy, and from what I read and see around me, there are more people using bikes to commute on than ever before, which means that bike parking spaces should be available for bikers to use. I bet if the car owner had parked in a disabled bay that a disabled someone wanted to use there'd be a big stink about it, so why should a bike owner not make the same stink?

I though the M.C bay was for the Managers Car Laughing

Most council car parks have motorbike bays, but hell if I can find them!

I gave up parking in the bike bays at my local Sainsburys after one guy shoved his trolley towards it then stalked off yelling "No, its for trolleys" at me when I spoke to him. He had to walk back to his car which was parked right next to the trolley thing...

So no I park right by the door.

I believe it is possible to fit a bike into a car-sized space.

Our local tescos is the same. Most bikes just park up on the pavement at the side of the shop.

I spoke to customer services about this once, and they pointed me in the direction of the security guy on the door who said "Just park here next to the front doors, as there's nothing I can do"
So I now park next to the front door of pretty much all supermarkets.

Indeed it is; however, seeing some of the pillocks that also park there I wouldn't trust them to not knock it over or to not surround it with bloody trolleys.

RANT=ON;
As for the manager, nothing pisses me off more than visiting factories (my day job) to find all the bays nearest the reception are for the senior management. So much for customer is king!
RANT=OFF;
