So you're looking for free insurance?
Yeah... Let me know if you find somewhere mate, I'd happily take out a policy.
People pay a premium to advertise on MCN, hence they can offer free insurance using their revenue from that business. You aren't going to find anyone offering that for free, are you?
No. Pay up, bitch ____________________ ZX-6R G2

I'll just say that I took out a PAYG policy with evan insurance. It has proven impossible to cancell via their website, their email system is set up to make is as hard as possible to send someone a message and again goes through their website and you can only contact them verbally via a premium rate phone line at £1.05/min.
I landed up sending out a cancellation by post. They have acknowleged receiving my letter but have persisted in sending out cover notes every month. I also cancelled the payments directly but I have a feeling I have not heard the last of this.
I mention this because this company also offers ebike insurance. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

One option, OP, is to get quotations now, with the start date as tomorrow.
Find the best price and everything as normal and then if you like the bike, pull the trigger and take out the policy. You can usually get them to start the policy FROM NOW (whatever time), so it shouldn't be an issue.
You're gonna need a policy anyway, right?
Alternatively, pay the seller a deposit and pick up the next day?
Lots of options mate, you aren't the first person to be in this situation ____________________ ZX-6R G2

I thought you could get a refund before 14 days with any insurer these days? Either way, you could buy a full policy and just cancel it as soon as you need to... say the bike was not what you expected and had to be returned to the seller etc. should imagine that'd take care of the cancellation fees if they try to charge you. I got Bennetts to waive the fees once by saying I was going to come back to them anyway when I got my new bike ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

The distinction is between "setup" and "cancellation" charges.
Within 14 days, the most that they're allowed to charge by statute is the reasonable cost of setting up the policy, plus a pro-rata daily rate for the amount of cover from which you benefited. If they're doing everything electronically, I'd imagine that the actual cost is pennies, but £25 isn't massively unreasonable.
Do watch out though, some insurers quite openly in the small print quote "cancellation" fees within 14 days. I assume that they're going on the basis that we can contractually agree to waive our statutory rights. Or, they just don't care.
After 14 days, all bets are off, and they could refund you £0 on the cover and slap you with any cancellation fee that hey want. It'd then come down to whether the contract itself was unreasonable. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
