Just had a letter though my door saying Carol Nash offer this DNA+ protection for motorbikes when you take out a policy with them,

didnt really know what it was looked it up and i quite cant figger out if it would work or not, its almost like a paste of micro chips you place around your bike each one is unique to you so if you bike get stolen can easily tell its yours,

more info here (ive not read it all yet)
https://www.carolenash.com/carole-nash-dna/

when i come to renew i will be asking for it why not eh ?

I've chased em twice, and they've never sent me mine. Tossers.
Also from what I could read on their site they'll only keep it registered while you're insured with them.
Still if they send you one, might as well.

It's just two stickers and what looks like a pot of nail varnish with micro-dots in or something.
Suzuki (used to?) give you the same with a new bike.
Deterrent maybe unless they only want to ride it about for a couple of days then torch it.

This assumes they actually recover the bike/parts of bike.

Get a Datatag if you want the same thing without going with Carole Nash.

Print up some stickers and slap them on your bike to have the same deterrent effect (none).

By the time a stolen and recovered bike is identified that way, it'll more likely be owned by the insurer than by you. That's why it's in their interests to do this.
