Cant believe ive done this! At least twice over the last 1 1/2 years.

Pulling on to a main road and one from a parking space and forgot what side of the road we drive on Laughing Laughing Embarassed Embarassed
Quickly corrected (no cars about)
Anyone else done this or something very stupid.

I like to think I'm quite a good rider and read up on road craft etc generally safe, but it concerned me that ive passed my test haha Laughing

Hahah, I did this except on a country road, and as a car pulled over to let me pass on a narrow bit I went around him on the wrong side, and carried on along the right hand side of the lane Thumbs Up

You need to try harder WinkLaughing

Most stupid thing I've ever done on a motorcycle is not hold on, whilst pillion - legs up around the ears of the rider and head nearly scraping tarmac Laughing

Whilst riding - froze up on a left hander once, ended up on wrong side of road, luckily with some run off / layby space on the opposite side of road I just rode through and into, scrubbing off speed. No idea why it happened - just glad there wasn't anything closer by when it did Shocked

Just had a crash on my bike a few days before and was riding around with my nerves still shattered and no confidence in the ability of the tyres to grip the tarmac.

I came to a fairly gentle right hand bend on an NSL road and completely bottled it. I couldn't trust the bike to stay upright going round a corner and ended up veering off in a straight line towards the verge and dragging both feet along the gravel at the edge of the carriageway at 20mph Embarassed

Felt very embarrassed as there was a car directly behind me at the time and he overtook me quite sharpish as I was approaching a 30mph zone 1/2 a mile up ahead. Felt awful immediately afterwards but slowly got my confidence in the days and weeks following my spill.

Trying to kick a box out of the middle of the road and it just got stuck on my leg for about two minutes while I shook it violently and cars queued up behind me and got angry. That's what I get for trying to do people a favour. It was pretty embarrassing though.

I've not forgotten which side of the road to drive on (yet!) even when driving through Europe, but my friend fucking scared me when I was driving us out of Eden Festival and we got onto the road she said "don't we drive on the other side of the road?" I fucking shit myself, and it took me a second to realise I was on the correct (left) side, and she was just shitting me. Great joke to play on someone who hasn't slept properly for 3 days that. Just great Twisted Evil

Stupidest thing I've done on my bike? Came off my 125 around a roundabout because I thought I was gong to fast, panicked, and pulled the front brake Brick Wall Oh well, I had only just done my CBT... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it Laughing

I did this a couple times when I first started riding, usually early in the morning when I was still a bit groggy. I'd quickly realise when I got to the junction at the end of my road and had to turn right.

Triumph has decreed that I'm too stupid to turn my own lights on, so has programmed the bike to dictate my illumination for me. Very helpful.

About a mile from home I reached a NSL road and sped up to an appropriate speed. It seemed unusually windy. Confusion for 30 seconds or so before…

…FUCKING HELMET!!! Shocked

Only did it once. Found helmet sat on the drive. Wasn't even hung over....

My 2003 CB has manual lighting. I think most 125s do too.

Did this before only once mind and it was early in the morning, been riding in the countryside coming back from Chester with crap headlights got lost twice. Turned straight onto the main road and ended up going into the opposite side realized straight away and moved into the right lane. That was the only time though.

Nah mate, thats the government behind that one.

Every new bike as of 2002 or 2003 needs automatic/always on lighting.

Early in the morning... I offered to give a rather attractive work mate a lift. As we leave her house, pull out on to the main road: on the wrong side. I quickly corrected but it was kinda embarrassing especially cause i'd been "bigging up bikes" the day before.

I made reference to it when we got to work but she didn't think much of it thank fuck Embarassed
