Posted: 17:31 - 31 Dec 2012 Post subject: Advice on low depreciation manual to take test on please :) |
 |
|
Hi guys,
Both my gf and I have passed our CBT and use our 125cc scooters to commute to and from work in London.
We both intend to take our full tests and then move up to something bigger.
In the mean time, we are looking to pass our tests without too many more lessons (we have had some already).
We would like to purchase a cheap bike to run alongside our scooters to practice riding a manual.
Requirements:
Budget £1k
Ultra low/zero depreciation
Easy to sell on- we will only keep it for 6 months and will put perhaps 500 miles on it.
125cc manual
Any advice on which types and brands of bikes we should consider would be excellent thanks |

Heh!
Yes it probably is worth mentioning - steer clear of anything Chinese rip-off of the Jap bikes. When searching on Ebay you'll see the word 'like' before YBR, for example. It's like it in that it looks roughly the same - but that's about it! |

Any reason you can't do DAS? You'll have to pass on 600s soon to get the full licence.
London you say, plenty of 125s down near Kent |

Before you buy a manual i would advise you take advantage of the following 'get on bike free 1 hour taster session' https://www.geton.co.uk/content/whats-it-all-about
Its for free and you can ride a manual motorcycle as well. So basically you can use this to see if riding a bike with gears is for you... you could also use the free session to test the schools ybr or cg etc before you buy something similar. ____________________ Theory: PASSED Module 1: PASSED Module 2: PASSED 12/2012!!!
