ive got a derestricted tdr 125 italian import, very quick accearation, 51 tooth rear sprocket, anyway when riding in the rain the bike will not rev over 5000 and just seems to splutter, you have to keep throttle on full revs until it seems to catch and away it goes again, any ideas.

Check the HT lead. Make sure it isn't too close to anything that could cause the spark to short circuit. Check the spark plug cap to see if it is a water resistant one (rubber boot sealing the base of the cap against the plug.)

If it happens when you go through a puddle its highly likely to be the above, if it happens when the bike has been sat in the rain, then its more likely to be water getting into connectors associated with the cdi & coil.

cagiva gezzer great advice as always Thumbs Up Also grease on the HT lead joints keeps water out. Might want to check that you air box rubbers and stuff are connected properly as well.

Also as winters comming up you might want to make sure its getting up to temperature. On My old dt125 (which has smaller rad) i used to have to cover up some of it.
