Hello chaps,

I know there's loads of people on here into their fitness and/or have lost a lot of weight. I've successfully (I think) had a healthy 2012 - a year which I started with the aim of losing weight and getting fitter. I did that - I lost 4 stone and attended Britmilfit sessions 3 times a week from May until now.

For 2013, I want to get more into running - I've been doing a bit for the last couple of months and enjoy running off-road. I'm entered into the Major Series South in March and really I want to get running up to half marathon distance.

Other than that my aim is just to keep at it and not lose my motivation.

What are your aims for 2013?

Yep, this is my year for losing the weight.

Currently 6ft1, 150kg. Thats about 23.5 stone.

Goal is to lose at least 6 stone, but I'll be going for 8.

Other fitness goals;
Be able to do my first ever pull up/chin up!!
Do a 5 mile run by the end of the year.

I think a Duathlon is my main target this year.

Otherwise I want to cycle at least 3,500 miles this year and possibly ride a 300km event.

I put on 2.5 stone in 2012, most of it muscle but obviously fair amount of fat as well. More than doubled my strength on all muscle groups so this year my aim is to get shredded! Hopefully get down to 8-10% body fat, done my first interval training session this evening and it was killer.

Problem is that I've put so much mass on that my cardio has dropped at twice the rate as I'm now carrying so much more weight, I just love the results you see and it really does make it all so rewarding.

This sums up my thoughts for anyone thinking of getting fitter! -

Main goal is to get a Silver at the Hampshire Hilly Hundred sportive in May.

After that, I'd like to get close to 80kg, currently 87/88 at the moment.

Put on a stone and a half in 2012, and not in the good way.

Diet has started back up, currently 15st, getting down to 12st would be ideal, 13 I can live with. In addition to that, looking to step into the ring for the first time in an amateur boxing match this March, so started back into hardcore training this week. It hurt. A lot.

I've said a few times on here but in the last two years I've dropped from 20st to 17ish.

Currently fluctuating from 16st 8 to 17st 5. Plan is to get as near to 15 stone as possible and cycle like a bastard this year. Plan on cycling 3000 miles this year and mapping them all using an app.

Hopefully going to start playing 5-aside again so that should help too.

Currently riding my pushbike a lot more. Slick tyres on narrow muddy paths and I'm wrecked...Loving it, will continue. Thumbs Up

Still eating far far too much and my weight is slowly increasing. Reckon if I eat normal sized portions I'll lose the 10lbs by Spring.

I aim to sustain the moderate level of personal fitness which will allow me to survive another year.

I'll reassess this time next year but the ongoing forecast will be more of the same.

We have an amazing gym facility at work. It's all state of the art stuff that the F1, reserve and junior drivers use and we can use it too. Every day the same desk jockeys trudge down at lunchtime and come back sweaty and red-faced. I've been there 7 years and not a single one of them ever looks slimmer, fitter or healthier. It's almost as if the rest of their life must be spent in a sedentary burgerfest and all the gym work just cancels it out.

I prefer the alternative "Don't eat more calories than you need" method. It's easier on the knees.

I could do with shedding some lard but as I've just found out there's now a bloke at work who's going to do a chicken and chips run every Friday night, that plan's gonna go tits up.

Good goal!

Wink

Me; lose some of the weight (fat) I've put on over the last month first off.
Gain some muscle (probably can be done in conjunction a bit as I've not got much and have had more in the past.)
Vague plan to do the Ben Nevis off-road Triathlon, but no idea if I'll be able to get get near the fitness to enter (and doesn't seem worth entering if not for the full thing!)
Get better bouldering - no specific target, but nice to consistently do at least V5s - currently at V3/V4 fairly comfortably. Do more lead climbing and some sport/trad - again, no specific goals; maybe do a 7a?
Now that I've been running ok, wouldn't mind doing some parkour.
For tartiness, like to get good enough to do a one armed pull up and a 'human flag'.

To look beautiful naked Laughing

To ensure I stick to around 90kg

To start playing a team based sport, like Rugby or AFL, in the near future. Just need to be somewhere near where that can happen. They're not a very fit bunch in the outback Sad

SOMEBODY in this house bought a resistance trainer on ebay for a tenner and has left it in my living room ... Rolling Eyes

The point of it really is to sort out his fucked-up-shoulders problem but he thinks it will be amusing to improve my upper arm strength in his downtime, by making me use it wearing nothing but a pair of knickers whilst he "coaches" me - so that he can check that the correct upper arm/chest muscles are benefiting. Yeah right.

He's only thinking of my health ...

Other than that, I might nag myself into returning to swimming at some point.

3 months is a pretty short time to get fit enough to compete, if you have the spare time I suppose you might make it! Good luck.
