 |
|
So this is the quote I ran through eBike:
25, No NCD, new rider have had license for <1 month, Live in NW London
Medical condition - DVLA aware
SP30 - 3 Points, July 2012
GSXR 600 K6 - £4,000 worth
Modifications stated: R&G Protectors, Heated Grips, Rear Seat Cowl
Not kept in a garage
Security: No fitted alarm, no tracker, no ID system, no ground anchor. Put down the Oxford Boss alarmed disc lock (do have an Almax and ground anchor for home but don't know if I will always use the chain - made no difference in the quote what physical security I put down neither and know I will always use the disc lock)
S&D inc. commuting
Came to £853.46 (TPF&T) or £713.54 (TP only)
Very Surprised. The 2nd cheapest quote came in at £2,000!! |

Wouldn't declare those mods.
Still seems pricey.
At 24 with no NCD, 6 points, 11 claims and no locks I get a quote for my CBR600RR under £400 TPFT, FC is £900 |

My theory is that he's wrapped round some boundary condition and The Computer thinks he's clean.
Tried https://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/ ? They usually turn up something pretty cheap.
If you do go with eBike, this link should get another £40 off.
Be aware that they will want to be emailed a scan or decent picture of your license. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

thats shit
why would you want a £4000 bike TPFT???? Id much rather have 2 or 3 older bikes, that I would be able to have more fun with
At 25 my CBR600, £2000 worth, cost £300 fully comp first year no NCB, went up to £500 this year with 2 NCB and terms that make it equal to TPFT, the bastards. |

But no, I mean I can insure stuff like a TL1000R and a Tuono, but if I got to insure a ZX6R or a GSXR600 I'm greeted with 800+
That's for both addresses, which does alter my car insurance by £100 or so.
Either way, if you think thats a good quote, good on you. Try quoting a TL1000R |

Got my ZZR600 insured for £148.50 TPFT. I'm 23 and have 2 years NCB. Thank god my parents live in a nice area
Edit: Oh and thats with 1 claim in 2008 when I drove (in a car) into the back of a learner driver. Obviously both the learner and the driver tried to get some money for whiplash
Considering all the damage was the parking beep beep noise things falling out of their rear bumper and absolutely no damage to my car...what a pair of wankers.

Renewal for the TTR came in this morning from ebike at £118 = £78 with Rogerborg's magic ticket. Cheeky barstewards claimed that this price included a 5% discount only available to renewing customers, and so I ran a dummy quote on the ebike site posing as a new customer and guess what? £118
Out of curiosity, I just ran a check on comparethemarket and Bennetts will cover me for £73
This is however with a £350 excess and the potential ball ache of switching companies....I like the way I can dick around with my policy online with ebike without having to talk with a phone mong so I don't think switching will be worth it for the £5 saving. ____________________ Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
