Thanks Arry just got off the phone to them after a 20 minute conversation. I stated your point about the validation of the insurance regardless of the change to the policy to which he replied that due to passing my full test I am now at a much greater risk due to having no "L plates". A very poor argument if I'm honest, I told him that I wasn't prepared to pay the £45 for a simple administration charge to which he then replied "well would you be prepared to pay £22.50, we've actually got an offer running at the moment" a poor attempt at trying to get me to pay for a simple change.
I was being told 2 different reasons for the charge, yesterday it was the fact that they had to redistribute the policy and make amendments. Today I was told by someone else that it was because I was at greater risk with a full license.
After all of his "offers" and "threats" of an invalid policy I said that I wasn't prepared to pay the charge and that if they put money before thought for their customers I simply would look elsewhere for my insurance renewal.
He put me on hold and after a few minutes after obviously talking with his manager he said " yeah we can put that through for free"
Situation sorted
I recommend anyone else who has this problem asks follows a similar approach to prevent this process of just "taking money if they can" |

Round of applause for another insurer teaching a customer that it pays to be deceptive and non-communicative. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yeah right, the funny thing was when he said to me that the charge incurred was due to the fact that I could now ride with passengers and use motorways which means I'm more likely to have an accident.
So I asked him why my renewal quote which is due in just over a month is half the price that it currently is... His response was "obviously it's less you have a full license you're a more experienced rider"
How contradicting. |

I don't work in a call center, not that there is anything wrong with that, it's a hard job, get people ringing up all the time asking for the impossible, and coming over all rantish when they don't get their way, or so I hear! |
