Well, that's it...

Insurance runs out tomorrow on the Honda CG - named it Hayabusa Laughing

...plus it means the end of riding 125cc bikes for a good few years. The Hornet is sitting in my kitchen being prepared for it's first MOT in 2 years.

It's a fantastic little bike, couldn't say more. The petrol can is the delivery of more fresh fuel for the Hornet. I'll miss it!

You'll be back...

A CG rekindled my interest in small bikes a few years back, and despite owning quite a few larger pieces of machinery since then, a 125 or 250 in one form or another has always managed to worm its way back into my collection.

Handy if we get snow soon too... I know I'd rather be on my City Fly rather than anything else in such conditions (should never have sold my DRZ...).

You'll soon fucking forget about that slow thing when you get a ride on your hornet.

Although my CG served me well for cheap transport for a year I couldn't wait to start riding my FZR. Even though it's way more thirsty for fuel there's no way I'm going back to a 125 other than for a winter hack possibly.

I know - this thing did about 180 ish miles before I have to fill up again, so about £14 a tank!

The speed really does piss me off - can't wait to get on the Hornet Thumbs Up

Sounds pretty low to me. My CB500 does 10p/mile.

I seem to remember my CG125 costing about 6p (and petrol was more then).

That's because I use an NSL road to get to work which is a 17 mile stretch. Revving the bollucks off it, hills, etc etc drinks a lot of fuel

You`ll be flying around on your Hornet, going everywhere at breakneck speed with a "must get there quick" frame of mind, and suddenly you`ll think "hmmmm, I miss my old CG".

I`ve had all sorts of bikes in my life and the funny thing is that the little old CG was one that I miss a lot.
I have had a full license for over 25 years and a ZX6r sitting in the garage yet I still hanker after a CG sometimes? only sometimes mind.

I went all round East Anglia on my CG and I could of done it in half the time on the Ninja but it would`nt of been half as much fun, and it would of cost twice as much.

Miss my CG too, I will get one again if I see the right bike advertised, I regret selling mine even though I got more for it than I paid. There's something about pottering around in no particular hurry on a simple little machine.

I had one too but I don't miss it.

I learned to ride on it passed my test on it and then sold it, I had it for 3 months.

The petrol consumption was amazing, road tax was basically free.

However there was no trip meter, there was some stupid tap that you had to turn, to turn the fuel on and off, there was no storage and it was bloody slow.

I do remember fondly back to one journey where I did about 80 miles, where I always think I learned to ride. At the start of the journey I was not leaning, by the end I had mastered leaning, this was on some lovely NSL twisty roads in North Yorks, basically the road from Skipton to Harrogate.

One thing I miss about the cg was the part prices, they were sooo cheap.

Like other posters I also managed to sell mine for more than I paid for it.

My 33bhp Er5 felt like a rocket after passing my test.

I used to love my old CG, it's still in the family so I can ride it when I want to.

Slow as hell though. Laughing

The city fly handles bad road conditions like a champ, not so much high winds though.

I've just switched from a city fly to a hornet, as soon as i do...it snows
