I took my bike down for its m.o.t after it being brought from some guy for 200
it was stripped down cleaned up and re-sprayed.
After the m.o.t guy looked at it he says ok well ive found these problems-

- Side pannel where clutch is needs fixing and replacing.
- The rear suspension has play in it, maybe shock or just looser parts but he said he didnt change the shock in the end.
-adjusted my front light for me
-Did mot
-checked for loose bolts ect ect
-new bearings in front wheel.
-I imagine this would include labour charges as well.

My bike is a suzuki ts 50 x

This all cost me £150

Is it worth it??

(if i find hes done anything else which he didnt mention on the phone i will add it later)

Sounds fine to me. For that price you can't expect something not to be wrong. Won't be too expensive to fix I'd imagine. If you do get the shock rebuilt then you're looking at around £80. That's what I just got done to my own bike. But then it was needing a whole lot of work.

Adjusting rear shock won't have taken him that long, not more than 30mins. The front light would be a five minute job. The MOT costs £15, checking for loose bolts isn't a seperate job he would spot any major ones in the MOT, new bearings is £20. What does he mean by sdide panel, the engine cover on the clutch side? £150 sounds way too much, £50-£75 max really.

Thats not all ive spent on it, it was kind of a bad buy in the end, there has been lots of things wrong, i worked out ive spent 600 ish on it now, when i could of almost got a perfectly looking one, although i do feel mine looks and sounds nicer then the standard ts 50 x because of the front fairings and stuff. By the way he did pick the bike up and is bringing it back, apparently he said there were 2 bolts around the suspension that were not done up hardly and he had to change some wiring in the front light. He also had to drill out a few things.

Well, down here collection and delivery alone would be at least £50 from most places.

The wiring to the front light, as it was done by me, i have never done one before or have a manual, i did it all by fiddling he said i had sidelight and main light on at the same time. Drilled out, underneath my engine there was a mount that held a screw that helps hold on the clutch side pannel, half had snapped off leaving a solid part so he drilled that out and got a longer bolt to go all the way through so its nice and secure.
Hes a proper bike mechanic you go down there and hes got loads down there. Ill find out exactly what hes done and get him to show me.

Sounds like he has drilled out a right hand crankcase cover bolt from your description. That is a fecking tedious job, easy but takes some time, as does sorting out spaghetti electrics. This will be the majority of the cost of the work. £150 sounds fairly reasonable considering how long it will have taken, especially with wheel bearings thrown in. It would guess about 3 hours all in so subtracting parts and the MOT from the total, he has given you the labour very cheap compared to most.
