Relax and you'll breeze through it. Very Happy I had some twat ex-army guy instructing me and he always made me feel realy nervous. He also made me run a red light which means i failed and had to come back for a second day...

If you do everything fine, its near impossible to fail.

Just remember, its not a test... just basic training to make sure your capable.

Just relax and enjoy the ride.

Remember, If it was hard, bikers couldn't do it. Laughing

I wont be able to afford a bike for a while, but I had my heart set on either a RS or an NSR Cool Then again, if i do some serious saving, and then do my test, by the time i'm 18 next April i can go straight onto a 400 or bigger? Well, depending on the insurance that is Laughing

The RS is such a high insurance group for the bike it is, I doubt insurance will be much different to a slightly older 400.

RS. Good choice. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Best of luck tomorrow, have fun, its what riding is all about. Cool

Good luck, it's nothing to worry about hopefully the weather will be kind tomorrow.

It might better if you'd have to wait a while to buy an NSR or an RS to consider getting an older cheaper bike, you can pick up the older NSR models reasonably cheaply in the free ad papers. Also you're able to do your test at the age of 17 if you want to.

Sorry, but how can he make you run a red light, unless he physically forced you to then he just told you to and you choose to listen to him.

There were traffic lights on the roundabout (silly place to put them if you ask me) and they were about to change to red. As my instructor was an arsehole and was making me feel nervous, he said "Go! go!". So i went and the light changed to red as i was going through.

Then he failed me. Very Happy

I was going to wait but then he would have probably been even more annoying.

when I took mine it wasnt about failing, the guy told me he had to spend three days with a girl but still got her through it. I asked if it had cost him a fortune, and he said he just brought her along everyday for the one fee. guess you have to find someone who genuinely cares about bikers and not just about the money!

Can you actually ride a bike yet girl?

If you can, believe me it's a walk in the park, I could only see it being a problem for someone if they hadn't ridden one and got nervous about being on one

What bikes does the training school use?

I'm guessing either scooters or CG125's. (or similar) Confused

They use Yamaha SR125's and scooters too, but i'm using the Yamaha. I thought it would be better to learn on a geared bike seeing as i have no intention of buying a scooter Razz

Hehe, one step at a time...

SR125's are proper rattly beasts - horrible clutches (feel at the lever was non-existent and the clutch basket rattled - not good!) and dire brakes. But I'm sure the engine is bulletproof, and you will eventually gel with it and you end up praising it for holding together - or was that just me??

The SR125. Shocked Four hours slow control on that thing and your arse will be numb and you'll be forever sliding into the tank. Oh, and if yours has a knackered clutch, expect your hand to be locking up at the end of the day. Smile One tip I'd give is not to be afraid of thrashing the engine on the road section, and not to change up before c. 7-8000 rpm. I felt like a fool going along at 20 in 4th.. Embarassed

Good luck, though you really shouldn't need it. On my CBT the other dude crashed into the back of me at a junction.. Rolling Eyes

Hi

Enjoy yourself, then take your time finding a bike that you like and that suits you. Don't rush out onto a large bike, and there is plenty of fun to be had on little bikes.

All the best

when you are on the off road part of the cbt practise clutch control as much as possible i.e finding the biting point and moving off from a standing start

as this will help you when going onto the road

have fun

The CBT was doddle, though I suppose I did do it on a scooter. The good CBT school I went too has offered me a free 3 hour session in learning how to use gears for when I want to ride a 125, without having to take the CBT again. Bonus. Cool
