Wait till you get to the chopper mission! FFS i give up, i just cannot seem to do it without the chopper taking too much damage on the second pass..
Game looks lush though, lots of room to explore. ____________________ Cbr1100xx blackbird gone, mk4 golf gt tdi chav now

It's quite good, but the base takeovers are a lot more fun than the story, for me. I found the story melodramatic and unengaging, and the need to sit through cutscenes tedious. The story missions are very linear, and the quick time events for bosses are deeply underwhelming.
I want to play it again, but the thought of having to go through and get "booted up" puts me off - having to go and get all the hides to have a half-decent loadout. The lack of a decent save system, in other words.
Second time around, I'll go through and unlock every GPS tower on the top island before I try to capture a single base, similar for second island. I'd prefer a version of the game with no story, just base takeovers.

It was the best game of 2012, I agree, but I played it on PC, and the graphics and game physics model in Crysis - from 5 years ago - are still superior. PC gaming has had the life sucked out of it by cheap consoles.
Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agbTFdy3BTg - it wasn't until this refreshed my memory that I was convinced. Check out the underwater effects @ 3:00 in particular. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

That was one of the reasons I bought Far Cry 3, I watched a few videos and the graphics reminded me of Crysis.
Battlefield 3 has some bad ass graphics on ULTRA settings |

I had the most fun taking down bases without being detected. In doing this, it's not really a matter of ammo, explosives, health etc.; it's more about observation, planning, timing, patience, etc. I took being detected when taking over the base as a failure.
| Quote: | No where near as hard as FarCry 2 but none the less, an epic game. |
Far Cry 2 was harder, but the way I played it, only a little bit harder. With FC2, I printed out a copy of the map that was included in the box, and marked it up with the locations of all the checkpoints as I found them, and also the routes of troublesome patrols. Then, when navigating from one mission checkpoint to the next, I'd plan a route that avoided the enemy. I very seldom went anywhere by road. In between every single mission, I'd always visit a weapons dealer and refresh my weapons, so I my weapons never jammed. And when taking down an area, I'd scope it out, work out a plan - usually involving attacking and holding some high area with cover, then using the height and cover advantage to pick off the enemy. Eventually, most of the enemy ends up in cover, so I'd start to sneak around and ambush them with a silenced MP5, or mop them up with my PKM if I got into trouble.
FC2 was a much more intense, involving game, and lasted longer. I think I enjoyed it more than FC3, but my stress levels were higher playing it too. FC3 is much more casual. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

I bought it today on PS3. Every time I pause it, it connects to the server and it doesn't load. Can I disable it connecting to the server? |

There are some bugs, but there isn't really a save-game system. Your inventory, completed missions and approximate locations are remembered, unless you're in the middle of a mission, in which case your last checkpoint is remembered. You can't save your game, play one way, then load the save and play it differently; there is only one save-game slot available in-game.
The save-game files themselves are tiny files, clearly designed to be constantly uploaded to Ubisoft's servers, presumably with the idea that you can resume on a different machine. But I had to play on my PC with the Uplay software in offline mode, otherwise the game wouldn't work. The Uplay servers were unreliable.
I got around it a bit by running a script in the background to copy the save-game files into timestamped folders periodically, but it's a PITA. On the bright side, the tiny save-game files and the simplicity of the system mean a save-game editor ought to be fairly easy to make. Google shows some already exist. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Finished it myself. Beside "Bro, I'm high" sections I think it's a pretty solid title.
One of more enjoyable FPS's I've played in a while. Got plenty of good time from it, would recommend getting it
P.S Helicopter section isn't half bad if you're on a PC. ____________________ 09' Versys 650 | 07' FJR1300A |

I run mine on 6850 in med/high settings and it was running cream smooth no matter how much hell I rose with an in game flamethrower.
EazyDuz, personally I was too preoccupied enjoying the gameplay to pay attention to (imho) fairly shit story. ____________________ 09' Versys 650 | 07' FJR1300A |
