Addicted to Far Cry 3

Anyone else a huge fan of this game?
Ive been spending a lot of time playing it, and ive only just got to the mission where (spoilers below)



















































You kill Vaas.
If im on my way to a new mission, im always getting distracted with collecting relics, doing races, killing animals or just exploring.
Best game of 2012 in my opinion, and shows that consoles can still produce some high quality graphics.

I bought it around Christmas on the Steam sale, played for about 2-3 hours and it seemed really good. Haven't been back on it since due to work but I want to.

The opening escape from that camp was immense.

Wait till you get to the chopper mission! FFS i give up, i just cannot seem to do it without the chopper taking too much damage on the second pass..
Game looks lush though, lots of room to explore.

That was one of the reasons I bought Far Cry 3, I watched a few videos and the graphics reminded me of Crysis.

Battlefield 3 has some bad ass graphics on ULTRA settings

i think the real reason why crysis was so good was that it was the little details really add up. Everything was done properly.

For anyone thinking of getting it, it is really good. Everything is so smooth and I personally love the forced perspective.

However, for me it was too easy. Even on the hardest difficulty. I went through the game giving myself only two health bars and max two weapons and no extra ammo pouches or explosives.

You're mean't to be some white kid trying to survive on an island inhabited by murderous pirates. No where near as hard as FarCry 2 but none the less, an epic game.

The story is superb.

Finished it myself. Beside "Bro, I'm high" sections I think it's a pretty solid title.
One of more enjoyable FPS's I've played in a while. Got plenty of good time from it, would recommend getting it

P.S Helicopter section isn't half bad if you're on a PC.

So i just completed it, and my opinion, spoilers:


I chose to save my friends because Citra started going all psycho clingy on me towards the end. Also i got fed up of the bitch making me trip out, thats basically drug rape.
I also lolled hard at Dennis, the clumsy twat, stabbing Citra in the stomach. I didnt expect him to do that shit, after all, from the very start the player tells him he JUST WANTS TO SAVE HIS FRIENDS, not go on some journey into becoming a warrior.
Just watched the other ending on youtube, and im glad i chose the ending i did

I didn't check the FPS on the 6990 on FC3 before I took it out nor have I tried it on the 680 yet, so I wouldn't know.

They're both monster cards and quite similar. The only games you will see a noticable difference on, are the likes of Battlefield 3, Skyrim (Loads of texture mods), Max Payne 3 etc.

I was averaging about 80 - 100fps in BF3 with everything on Ultra settings. The 6990 wasn't far off them figures either but the drivers for AMD are terrible.

Next upgrade will be a 144hz 27" monitor. In order to get the best out of that monitor, I need 144fps to see it at its potential. That will require another 680 in SLi to do something like that on Ultra settings in BF3.

Far Cry 4 will have to have better graphics than real life to justify the purchase of a PS4/Xbox 361
