Hornet derestriction & Camchain queries.

I've got an '02 hornet 600 which is currently restricted to 33bhp. My restriction is up on the 1st of April and was just wondering whether anyone has a rough idea of how much it will cost to take the washers out of the carbs (derestricting it)? To restrict i know there is a common £200 charge from garages, so i was just wondering whether it was the same case and it was a similar fee amongst garages.

Also i have picked up on the rattle coming from the engine that is common with Hornets and camchain tension failure, same question as above does anyone have any idea to how much it costs to either change the tension on the current camchain or get a new one and fit it?

Shouldn't be too hard to whip out the washers,

Tank off?, carbs off? Either way, locate said washers, remove, reassemble?

It'll need a new camchain tensioner by the sound of it. Not hard to change but you do need to follow a set procedure. Get yourself on the Hornet's Nest - there's a ton of useful Hornet specific advice on there.

is easy, seat off side panels off, tank off, undo jubilee clups on inlet rubbers pull carbs back. remove washer and do in reverse. enjoy your new power

Yeah I took the engine out of my GS500 when i had it and that was simple enough, just haven't done much work on my hornet so was a bit unsure. Guessing i don't need any official paperwork or anything for it? Would be ridiculous if i did but just checking i guess, if anyone knew?

Of course you don't, in the same way you don't for putting them in.

Also, chuck the washers on eBay and they might sell for £15 - £30
