Hi Guys,
I dont know about you lot but I cant help but wonder how many miles per gallon I get out of my fzr 400, I have tried the old write the millage on the receipt however always lost the receipts etc.
Tonight browsing the net I found a good site called fuelly.com you sign up (for free) select your bike/car and then all you do is when you fill up visit the website via your mobile or a computer later put in the cost per liter and how many litres including your odometer reading and it will work out your mpg !
Obviously this is just an average between fill ups but you can see it dip up and down from sensible days and the silly days
Anyway just thought it might be something some of you were interested in, I know I will be giving it ago!
Cheers,

Yeah cos just resetting the mileage counter on your bike when you fill it up from empty and seeing how many miles that gets you is just far to complicated.... ____________________ What would you do in life, if you knew you could not fail?

Fuelly has been banging about for a while now, you can even search for your bike on the site and see what mpg other people get with it ____________________ A2 Passed 18/6/10 |

A quick search for Fuelly on BCF returns 34 threads - pretty much any thread that mentions MPG and someone will link to it. I use it not so much for my own vehicles, but more for seeing what real world average others are getting on theirs. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Hi Guys,
Ah I didnt know this had already been mentioned ! Im still keen to use this and see what I get, I tend to avoid resetting my trip meter as I use this to keep track of work miles etc.
Any just thought it would help someone, no harm done, feel free to delete.

.
Are you saying you cannot remember the reading on your trip odometer and how many liters you put in until you get home that night.?
If you cannot remember that I imagine that you also forget to take your cock out of your pants before you go for a piss.

I have to say 'who cares'.
If you commute on a bike I can understand your interest. Buy a 125 or a 500 or one of those new Honda 700's (that have been assembled in the same factory as Victorys ).
If you are worried about fuel consumption, don't buy a rev happy sports 400. Simples! ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

See it's reasons like that why I got sick of my GS 500, it was relatively crap on fuel for what it was, sure components and renewable's were cheaper but wasn't worth the agonizing boredom of riding it!
Have a look on Fuelly at VFR 750 avg mpg, when nursed can get up to 50's, when caned drops to about the same as the GS 500 but kicks out a lot more ooommmpphhh!

Dolphin lovers are gonna be pissed when they'll read this thread
My the top worst MPG was on GPz when I was selling it, 35 MPG at full throttle with pile of black smoke behind the can whenever I bliped the throttle in front of a corner. I'm not sure but I think I might got a few dolphins to swim with its hole down ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ
