 |
|
So I passed my text last November and last weekend I finally decided on my next bike - a Honda CB500. So I put my deposit down and asked the dealer to get hold of and fit a restrictor kit for me and I was going to have it delivered this thursday; so, naturally I've been looking forward to it a lot - booked the day off work and everything.
Emailed him tonight just to check the bike would be ready for thursday and apparently the restrictor kit is on back order so god knows when that will be back in stock .
I was going to just go for one of the cheaper Ebay ones but didn't in the end as they were not listed at the time. Now that I've gone and committed to buying one from this other place the cheaper ones are back on Ebay.
So I'm pretty gutted now, the dealer I bought the bike from said he's hoping to get it Friday then I can have the bike saturday or sunday - but I can't see that happening .
Anyway thats my rant kind of thing over. ____________________ Present: [Kawasaki ZX7r][Suzuki DRZ 400s]

shit happens mate, especially when you take the day off work for it! Just think though, in a week or two time you'll be cruising around on a proper bike, wish I could say the same. |

Patience
I was in a similar position to you, just bide your time till it's ready.
If a jobs worth doing its worth doing right. Besides the weather is shit right now, this delay may even work to your advantage is the weather improves |

Buy unrestricted, can't see why you would bother getting it restricted anyway, its a boring as fuck bike with little or no more real world power than 33hp anyway, you'll do 100 with them in (maybe) and 115 without.

Honda Part Numbers: 16221MY5710 ; 16211MY5710 and two of 99101GHB1250
Should come to a total of around £40 delivered, including VAT.
David silvers quote a 7-day lead time on the rubbers. They have the jets in stock.
Any Honda dealer should be able to order these parts in for you. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

How often is that then?
Woll got a after he stacked his bike and the restrictors fell out in the crash. Then there was that chap on the SV650 forums who was nabbed by a clown who insisted that there needed to be something attached to the engine to "prove" restriction.
I can't actually recall hearing of anyone else having their bike seized for Otherwise Than In Accordance on a 25kW license, ever.

No argument there, but I'd suggest that anything that looks remotely like a dyno or restrictor receipt will do the job, without the tiresome and expensive business of actually mucking around with the bike. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
