I was quoted £390 for 3day, including test fees. That's from Williams Motorcycle Training in Bolton. (If you're in the Manchester kind of 'north'.)

I was quoted that for a place in Maidenhead back in the summer, so before the changes in license

Focus Rider Training in Bolton who I did my tests through are now quoting £499 which has gone up slightly from before the new categories came in.

Highly recommended.

Is that the price including doing the CBT?

I'd recommend doing theory test before booking as you can't take your tests without it.

Sounds like the tests are coming down in price from when I did the DAS a million years ago. Thumbs Up

Yeah, that price includes the CBT. I went for myself, was planning on doing DAS this month but the dog's got really ill. I done my theory in November, and spoke to Mike at Williams end of November. Got that quoted price based on me doing the DAS in Feb so no increase due to licence changes.

Might be less if you already have your CBT..

Is that 3 days training, plus a test day, and including the test costs (£90.50)?

(550 - 90) / 4 = £115 a day.

At 200 working days a year (they'll lose some due to cancellations, sickness and weather), that's a gross income of about £23K. Subtract bike and equipment purchase, maintenance and repair costs, fuel and insurance.

How little do you expect trainers to work for? Thinking

Is that assuming 1-on-1 training?

If you have family in London or near, my old training school is doing an excellent deal:

3 days - £199 (got to add the test fees tho)

Any other days have 25% off or buy one get one free if you do it on the same day with someone you know, so in essence:

1 Person 4 day with test fees = £474.50
2 people doing it together on the same days, 4 day and test fees = £349.50

good school too.

search them - camrider, Hendon

Most people forget all that, the cost of maintaining 12 training bikes, when at most 4 are earning anything on any given day, damage to the bikes, they are training tools, and therefore get battered a bit.

I am 30 miles from the nearest test centre, so taking a single student to test adds 120 miles of fuel to my costs.

And then there's the rent. My rent totals over £700 per calendar month. Advertising costs and stationary, business cards etc all add up.

I love my job, but I still have to pay my mortgage and feed my family. If it wasn't for the fact I have a pension coming in, I wouldn't be able to keep going as it is.

People seem happy to pay a plumber £50 just to turn up and spend half an hour at your place, yet resent paying £100-£120 for a full days training that will set them up for life.

Compare that to a car instructor as well, the cheapest round here now with a fully qualified instructor is £22 per hour, and they have far less overheads.
