List price of a YBR125 is 2499.

Of course, you have to factor in to the cost of ownership what it'll sell for when you're getting rid of it. In that sense a 3-Series is cheaper than a Mondeo, if you get my drift.

£368 on the road

insurance £8 per month

mpg not sure yet but at 61 miles from 5 liters and still got some left

you want cheap or new,

£2400 is not cheap

£368 for a Honda 2stroke is even if you added up my labor it prob still would have come in under £600

i have the cbf 125, a cheap bike, some aspects of the finish leave a lot to be desired, but 100mpg is good, insurance is cheap, and a full service is 70 quid

I'd have to vote for an old Honda like a CG125. You can pick one up for less than £1000 in good condition. Wouldn't spend the extra 1.5k+ for a CBF/YBR - they're not much faster and it's only going to be a stepping stone / commuter.

i got a brand new zontes panther for £1550 it is chinese but if you check out their website it has received a good review! i've had mine about 3 months now and have only had one problem which got fixed straight away for free as it is under a warranty... just make sure you go to reputable dealer so they will follow things through and provide you with a good service....

saying that though.... nightshaddow has made a good point!

Could you go for a Euro brand bike? Derbi or Rieju? The Derbi Cross City is ₤2,249. Or aim for one of the better cheaper brands. By the look of it my Sinnis (£1,400) is holding up better than some of the CBF's out there in the battle against winter rust. Kymco's are meant to be OK as well arnt they? What about something like the Kymco K Pipe at £1,700?

My missus had a Cross City. Pretty, and nicely screwed together (and the bike) but it vibrated so bad I had to get off it after about 500yds. No wonder she liked it.

I had a Terra and it was far more refined but the list price was £2,800 on that. We actually got them for £1,600 and £2,100 brand new and unregistered though so it's worth shopping around.

I keep seeing a Terra Adventure (the bigger white one?) on my way home. Looks lush for a 125 Wub Was around £3k+ when I looked though, and the bastards held their value so were still £2500+ secound hand. Thats more than what I would want to ever spend on a 125 Smile

I had a ride about on one of those late last year. Had some decent pull for a 125 and I quite enjoyed it, but I question Derbi's build quality and spares availability compared to the big boys i.e honda suzuki etc.

Certainly is a tall good looking bike though and you can fit hard luggage to it if your inclined

It's not bigger than the Terra, it's the same frame and engine, it just loses the beak under the screen, wears knobbly tyres and has multiple fixing points for hard luggage.
