Far more hassle than its worth...

If I get refused from a petrol station, I'll find the next one down the road and fill up there.

I won't be running home to tell the internets about it - especially going to the trouble of posting their address and linking to it on a directory.

Also, what, should I check the blacklist before I fuel up every time?

Give us a break man.

I've had many an argument about this. They're worried that we'll fill up with 15ltrs of fuel and ride off without paying, but they turn the pump on for my van and allow me to fill up with with 90 litres of diesel and still risk me driving off and not paying.

What we need to do, is wear a burka under our helmets, take the helmet off and watch them try to tell us to removed the burka.

Bridgehouse Garage (Total) , Barlborough just off j30 M1.

I use the Sri Lankans down the road instead. They're a good bunch. Their fuel's better anyway.

Been refused once at a shell, I went in to speak with the guy who serves me at least once sometimes twice a day and he apologised and said he had to ask me to remove the lid because the area manager was in...have filled up in there many times without the hassle...

try to bare this in mind cause it could be the case...wouldn't expect someone to risk their jobs to save me 30 seconds of hassle.

Is that the reason then? Cos they think you're going to drive off without paying?

It's the only reason it really comes down to. The last place I had an argument with said it was so that they could capture my face on camera. Haven't been back since.

ASDA Oldbury in Birmingham.

I've not had this problem...yet. But, you must live in a pretty special area if you can just 'pop down the road' to the next filling station. I am based in Manchester, you would think I would have no problems finding alternatives. Nope, all the little independants have closed, they are now hand car wash places. Once a superstore opens in your area, they tempt motorists until they are the last ones left standing. I would be more inclined to accept whatever stipulations are made just to keep a smaller garage open. They might be selling Shell or whatever, but they are usually small operators.

Fu**ing daft Shocked Mad

It is daft but you can't trust anyone anymore, would you leave your bike outside your house on the road no locks or alarms and not be worried someone wouldn't nick it, probably not.
It is easy to unclip your helmet, like said only takes 30 secs, remember the old helmets that you had to thread like a belt buckle, took an age to undo and do back up.
I do get your rant but it can't be that hard to take your helmet off.

Restaurant blacklist.

I was asked to pay before eating my meal in McDonalds the other day.

Surely something should be done against such flagrant abuses.

I think it's an insurance requirement, if they could see your reg plate and your face on the CCTV prior to you filling with fuel then they're covered for the loss.

I generally take my helmet off when filling up, more so that I can see what's happening!

Not much in the garages I use - a few people putting fuel in their vehicles and that's about it really.

you miss-understand me, I've overfilled my tank twice, both of those times I had my helmet on and can't see properly what I'm doing.

Being able to hear if some daft cow is about to drive into me while I'm filling my bike is also useful - everyone looked when I shouted at her to stop - I have a nice loud voice!

I guess I'll be adding every petrol station in Leeds then.

Either the area is dodgy or the pump jockies think I am... hmm Thinking

So instead of taking 20seconds to take your helmet off you've wasted 10minutes of your life writing this post and then waste more of your life reading the replys and ridng out of your way to use another petrol station....why not just take helmet off.
