Hi

How easy is it to bend one of these back in shape? Its not a huge 90 degrees or anything like that, more like 30 degrees (away from the grip).

Many thanks

Deano

I would of thought personally it would break, due to the fact that as it's already bent it would have been stressed and therefore weakened. If you can, just try and use it anyway, or buy another cant be that expensive

I'm not sure if I'd really want to do this with a brake lever, but I dropped my bike, bending the clutch lever into a banana shape. It turns out though that it makes no difference at all when I'm riding.

I'd ride with it and see what it's like. Having said that, I'd assume that you already have and have found out that it's just too dangerous.

Just tried ringing honda for the price of a new one, but they are shut today. I can still reach it, but it niggles me to know its not as it should be.

what you can try is this : pick a bit of candel , warm your pedal with a torch (out of the bike) melt a bit of candel on the alu , keep going to warm until the melt is black (stearine comes black just before alu melting) then put into a baquet of water to get it cold quickly . now you've got 1 to 3 mn to de-bend it (not like a brutal) . no hammerring !!!

Cheers for all your advice peeps. I had a better look at the lever once I got home. The bend was near the end of the lever. I put a soft bit of wood between the handle and the lever, and used a hollow iron bar to gently ease the lever back into shape. No stress marks on the lever whatsoever, so I've been quite lucky! Thx again!

Levers are cheap and should be in your spares box. They're consumables as far as I'm concerned. Thumbs Up
