Bought a bike, just after a bit of advice

I am after a bit of general advice about the 929 and hopefully some advice from 929 owners.

We have agreed at £1800 and i will be collecting at the start of March.

Its seems pretty tidy but would anybody be able to advice why it would need a new "replacement ECU from Honda"?

People have mentioned the REG/REC can fail on the 929, How common is this?

Any other advice would be appreciated.

Obviously gonna HPI Check and MOT History Check.

No problem with the ecu if it has been fitted by Honda. Reg/recs are a common problem on old hondas, replaced mine last year for the £60.

Can't give specifics as to the 929 as I have a 918 but seem sturdy bikes .

The mileage isn't stored in the ecu so a new ecu shouldn't reset the mileage.

If the mileage has changed it's had new clocks at some point.

Brilliant bikes for the money they are going for now.

Fueling low down is a little lumpy, but other than that and the usual Honda 'characteristics' (Reg/Rec and the Cam chain tensioner), solid bike.

Thanks for the advice so far its much appreciated.

The seller is happy with a £50.00 deposit to remove the ebay advert and let me buy the bike when he returns from his work abroad on the 2 March which seems fair to me.

Bike looks tidy apart from, rust on the bottom lip of the tank, a bit of rust on the front fairing frame, slight scuff on end of end can and a slightly mucky rear brake caliper.

All can be sorted easily though.

Bodywork looks fine though.

Are the rear indicator standard or have they been replaced?

Gonna HPI before collecting and have a look over previous MOTs on the online database as well.
