Today I tried to pay for some food in Tesco using my card, when it said insert your card, I did so, just like normal. Came up with error, please insert card again. Did this a few times, tried a few machines and it was not having it.

Tried the cash point outside, put it in and the machine made a few more clunky noises than normal (all 3 did) like a cd drive when the disk is scratched.

That let me put my pin in, then the options screen came up and if I selected money or balance it comes up with transaction not available, try another machine, did this on each one.

The chip doesn't seem damaged and the card is only 3 months old, last one was a year and a bit and worked fine till I lost it.

Never had any problems before, I'm with Santander if that helps and no you can not have any more banking info Wink

Any thoughts or ways to fix?

EDIT: Yes there are funds in there.

Ring 'em and ask for a new card. You could try giving it a good wipe aswell, but they'll send you a new one if you ask nicely Thumbs Up

I left my card down on my army base when I was on leave, so I just went online and ordered one of those funky picture cards (Barclays) new card sent out by the end of the week!

Cheers, 3 clicks online and they're going to send me a replacement free of charge. Recommend.
