I have a part time job interview at a garden centre (Don't laugh)
The only way I have of getting there would be on my bike. Obviously I will be wearing my trusty alpinestars gear. Do you think this would affect my job, not wearing smart trousers/shirt? I really don't wanna have to get there, take my gear off then ask them to put it somewhere. ____________________ CBT 03/10/12 | Theory 11/01/13 | Mod 1 16/01/13 | Mod 2 18/01/13

Not sure I would be earning 10k a year on a part time garden centre job.
And I'm not complaining about riding the bike there long term, I would love that. Just for the interview, don't wanna seem a state. ____________________ CBT 03/10/12 | Theory 11/01/13 | Mod 1 16/01/13 | Mod 2 18/01/13

I have been to smart interviews on bike and I think I *looked* ok.
If you have a large topbox, it will fit your jacket/leathers, and you can take smart shoes with you. I personally cba taking shoes. Instead I polish my boots.
Park a little away from the shop so they wont notice you changing. get there early I wouldnt wear a suit jacket for a part time shop job, its a bit ott. Dont take your bike gear in with you.
*but every other aspect was shit* |

I've ridden to several interviews on my bike and got the job. However, i have never sat in interview in my textiles, i always take them off and ask politely where to put them / put them in panniers / top box etc.
Why not wear a shirt and trousers under your textiles, and then put your tie on in the car park (out of the way of your interviewer, mind ). There's at least a couple of interviews where i've done that, put my shoes on etc in the car park, and gone in carrying just my helmet whenever possible (although on a few occassions, a bag full of my textiles too) and politely asked where to put it. Sometimes it's been a nice icebreaker.
And whenever possible, got a lift / otherwise avoided going on the bike. ____________________ -- Ingah |
