Salutations Gentlemen
I've recently got the CBR out of hibernation and put my straight through pipe on. This one.
Now, from what I understand, a gutless pipe like this will cause the bike to run lean, I know it needs a rejet as it's taken all the midrange but what I'm concerned about is doing damage.
Is this pipe likely to cause any damage to the bike between now and when I get dyno time? (Perhaps next paycheck)
I'll stick the stock can back on if so.
Thank you

Thanks gents.
Paddy, I know it states no rejetting required and I went along with that but a friend of a friend said that I'm going to damage things if I didn't, if you haven't had any problems though then I'm happier knowing it'll be fine until I can get it done.

Is it a carbed bike? Or FI?
If carbed; you can make the mixture richer on the needle jet which is what I did when I fitted my can to the Bandit.
Carbs and needle jets are explained here.
At least that will richen up the mixture when you've got the throttle on 3/4's.
And to richen up idle you can screw out the pilot screws a couple of turns. ____________________ The mistresses: 2000 Honda CBR600f, 2000 Honda VTR1000 |
