On another forum that I used to frequent they run a challenge with 100 locations around Britain.
The locations are split into groups, like BSB circuits or regionally, 10 points for each location tagged and a bonus for completing a group.
Each participant gets a number and all you have to do is photograph your bike with your number at the location and post it up. It's a bit like the Bike Picture Challenge or the South East tag but with set locations so you can plan in advance.

Do you think this would work on BCF? Would anybody be interested in taking part?

The idea is just to get out and riding and visit a few locations.

I am planning on doing some of the Round Britain Rally this year. Not as a three month sabbatical like Stinkwheel was able to do but break it into sections and do what I can a week at a time.

I've a mate in the Borders that is hoping to meet-up with me and ride some together.

So the idea is to visit 100 places around the UK and photograph your bike at each place (or as many as you can). Anybody who wants to take part gets a number.

For example, and using some locations robbed from the other forum, the groups of locations include:

PUB NAMES These can be anywhere in the uk to give everyone a chance to get started
Red Lion, Royal Oak, White Hart, Rose & Crown, Railway, White Horse, Crown, Kings Head, Kings Arms, Plough

BSB CIRCUITS
Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Knockhill, Snetterton, Thruxton, Cadwell Park.

Then locations in England, Scotland and Wales like
Rutland Water - Crazy Fox Cafe
Brighton - Madeira drive
Towcester - Jack’s Hill Cafe
London - Ace Cafe

You visit as many as you can, post a pic of your bike there, and we keep a running total of the scores. Winner is the first to complete all 100 or the highest scorer at the end of a set time.

10 points per location and 50 bonus points for completing a full group. So if you get all the BSB circuits you score 80+50 = 130 points.

My bike at Jack's Hill Cafe - 10 points for that

Pointless putting together a list of 100 locations and trying to kick it off if nobody is interested...

How about 1 point per location and 5 bonus points for completing a full group? Smile

Sounds interesting, I won't be in it to win it as I don't have the time but it could be fun anyway.

Wouldn't have replied if I wasn't interested. Razz

There's plenty of interest in the pic challenge thread, it just gets derailed by veg-up-the-arse challenges, which won't happen here.

It's a very sound idea, please do make it so forthwith.

That is just dividing by 10. Makes no difference.

What would you prefer we divide by? Laughing

Don't tell me you want it multiplied? Shocked One hundred million points per location! Should we use scientific notation?

10 to the power of 4 for a normal location and 10 to the 6 for a whole group?

But then the award for a group is 100 times greater than the award for a single visit, making single visits meaningless.

The zero key on my keyboard's a bit sticky so I'd prefer it if we stuck to prime numbers anyway.

Any geographical weighting?

Base points = pi

Double if outside the M25 (because is Adventure Biking in the hinterlands).

Multiply by the number of sausages in a "single sausage" from the chippy.

Double if the locals sound like they're speaking Klingon, or have six toes, or the bank notes look a bit funny.

Whinged the Provincial oik.
