Got myself a '99 Suzuki SV650S, traded the CBF125 in to get a proper bike.

It's having all the restrictor nonsense put in and general fettling, then I can pick it up on Saturday.

Probably be able to ride it for all of half a mile back to my garage as the weather looks bad this weekend again. Thumbs Down

I'd have a yellow one..

I didn't like the bike, but can see how some people enjoy it. Be a ship in comparison to the CBF Mr. Green

I was a bit wary with it being a more 'hunched' riding position, but it's midway to a full sportsbike. So I think I'll be alright. Still commuting on it, will miss that 120Mpg but I think I'll replace it with Very Happy

They do look nom nom in yellow. Thumbs Up

And that subframe will straighten right out, don't worry too much about it.

I like yellow bikes Thumbs Up

Fit a hugger, that's the one accessory I always fit. It will save the shock so much abuse.

At least you can't see how slack the chain is from that picture! Slacker than Katie Price's knicker elastic!

Agreed, been looking at them. The XJ6 I had for the day went back looking disgusting, it was a damp day but still. They are desperate for huggers.

GSXR shock bolts in. Maybe the tiniest of work but you'll get it bang on.

There's actually 2 Cool it's a Renegade system. Quite rare, and expensive I think.

If someone came and gave me an original system as a replacement, I'd consider it, but I have no idea how much its worth.

Well I had the ZX6 before, and I just prefer the free revving nature of an IL4 engine. I cant't say I'm a huge fan of the engine braking either, and I also prefer the noise of the engine from an IL4.

There's nothing wrong with a V-Twin, and its superior for motorway cruising if you ask me, because the torque makes for great pick up speed in any gear. But most of my riding is around town and short dual carriageway jaunts.

Interesting to know, as ironically town and dual carriageway is where mine will be spending a lot of time, I was suggested this because of it's torque. We'll see how I get on. The only thing I'm wary of is the 'S' bar setup, which is clip-ons rather than bars, which also significantly alters the riding position.

I favour the clip on positioning actually, and can't wait to be back on a sports bike because of it. Maybe we're just different that way.

The torque is great everywhere, and its a great engine all round. I just miss the free revving style.

I just want to see how it goes, can't wait to get out there. Want to go for a ride up to Boxhill this weekend which is quite close to me, I never went there on the CBF but I did when I hired an XJ6. Awesome place for a quick ride. Boxhill is where the cycling went during the olympics, there are still 'wiggo' marks on the road, but I digress ...
